$15 Digital PH Meter, both solutions and free shipping

Good find. My PH probe went bad and the replacement costs more than that. I think I will try one of these out. Maybe it will work as well as my more expensive tester than seems to need a new probe every 6-7 months. If not, a cheap emergency tester.

Mine came in today. It took two weeks. I am in the US and it shipped from Hong Kong.
Came with a plastic case, instructions, it's own adjustment tool, and two DRY packs of calibration salts.
The instructions for them are in Chinese but I see the number 250 on each one. I assume mix contents with 250ml of water...But I have my own solutions. It is a single point calibration and the instructions say to adjust on one solution, rinse, and then let set in the 2nd until the reading matches the solution (no adjustments on the 2nd one, just watch and see).
I just calibrated it using 4.0 (solution is 4.01 but this unit only does X.X readings) as I am wanting 5.5 and that is closer to the 4.01 solution than is the 7.01. I see no need to use both solutions when there is only one setting made. Use what is close to the range you are shooting for.
For the cost, damn good buy with free shipping. Now I get to see how long it lasts.
I will say, buying this is cheaper then buying a replacement probe only for my more expensive PH tester. I would buy multiples of these instead of the expensive replacement probes that seem to go bad 6+months out.
It is not as accurate as an X.XX display...but shooting for the exact perfect reading can cause more trouble than what it is worth. I learned to stop chasing PH up and down when mixing a grow or two ago....PH down...to much...PH up...DAMN to much...PH down... :)

Can't beat $15, no matter how you turn it over and look at it. You are right about using the closest solution to what you are shooting for, but i use both to get the meter dialed in before use. If you spend enough time using it, you will see that by going back and forth between the two, and adjusting as needed, it's pretty accurate for $15. Also, I found a site where they have the same meter+solution and the instructions called for 250ml of distilled water per packet of solution. Appreciate the input DH, hope it lasts you more than 6 months.

I got one of those cheap ones from Hong Kong. Great find, although the calibration solutions they sent were a pain in the ass. I picked up some GH calibration solution for $8 each, and that's enough to last me a long time :D

That meter is the same pen as the one Milwaukee makes but most likely generic. My bet is it works great considering my buddy has used it for the last year.

I am happy with mine. The readout stabilizes fast compared to my Hanna tester that can take 15-30 seconds to settle on a reading.
This was an exellent find Hobgoblit.

I used it for the few weeks i had it until i broke it due to plain carelessness and it was accurate. I was nervous bout it bein so cheap so i always double checked with other instruments. It never did me wrong, it would show some ridiculous number soon as it turned on, then submerge up to the line and it gave back an almost instant reading that i found to be in line with other tests.

I skimped on my ph meter and bought the Milwaukee one. I WOULD NEVER SKIMP AGAIN on such an important piece of a grow. These things are ticking time bombs.
