13 finger/point fan leaves

Anyone know which seeds/strains have the higher number of leaf fingers?
I don't think I've had any grow with a higher number in a while.
The last plant I recall I grew that had I think 13 leaf fingers was some Chronic that I grew from seed years ago that I ordered from www.weedfarmer.com back when they still sold beans. I haven't even seen too many if any pic's as of late showing plants with higher number of leaf fingers. Maybe I just haven't noticed it.

The most I've had is 13 on a Killing Fields plant that I can recall off hand. I don't typically examine that particular detail.

I get them on a few different strains that I run but only when vegged for a long time. I do notice it more on indica's than sativa's though.

My Malawi have a few 11 point and 13 point leaves. Definitely seems to be a saliva influenced trait. Most my hybrids have 7, but I have a couple girls which are 3, but mostly 5 point leaves.

Yeah I'd say it seems to more a sativa than an indica thing in my experience, but you know it really will just depend on the line at the end of the day I'm sure.

True true, I wonder when someone will get around to some genetic mapping of traits with cannabis. Now that it is becoming legalized, I'd love to have traits mapped with genes. Would make for some interesting correlating factors of growth, effects and seeing which lines are similar as well as dominate and recessive traits

AFAIK Chimera has been working on doing that with Tom Hill and another large company of which I'm not sure the origins of.

Not to knock either of those guys but do they even have the resources? It's one thing to do a few tests, it's another to figure out what they mean. Shit ain't cheap, I know that.

Michael Backes is way into that and a genome project is underway. get involved.
sativa has the highest leaf count on avg. i've had 9 leaf max...very unique and pretty

Yup, they do. They're working with a large company which I mentioned. My guess is a lot of this info will not become public for sometime though if ever. I guess we'll see.

They do, it's legit, and they are the only ones doing it right now, but it isn't complete genome mapping. They are tracing lineage: parents, siblings, cousins, self pollination, across "different" cuts, to trace the origins. This really isn't that expensive when compared to 5 or 10 years ago haha. As far as I know there is no project going on involving complete genome mapping, that is expensive, and probably a 3-5 year project for a team of scientists with top of the line equipment, but as soon as someone does, we will easily be able to not only trace the countless junk/fake cuts and supposed genetics, but we will be able to build predictive software to aid in breeding certain traits, as well as countless other good, and really bad things.
