12x7 Room Lighting suggestions

Hey all,

My buddy and I are gonna be setting up a 12x7 room. We plan to keep it as a flower space and flower 6-10 plants at a time.

Would it make sense to get LEDs that add up to roughly 3000w or just get 2 1000w hps?

Ideally we would like to run LEDs but I’m not sure how many actual watts of led we should run.

All suggestions are welcome. Tia

I’d run 4 600-watt HPS over 2 1000-watt. For costs going in definitely go HID. Quality LED prices still crazy ridiculous. You’re looking at thousands to cover the same area.

Quoted from @jimihendrix1
"Its optimal to get 40.3w-sq/ft of the best LED diodes. Samsung/Osram to duplicate the sun.

2 x 2 is 4 sq/ft. 4 x 40.3=161.2w sq/ft, but they have to be the best diodes, or all bets are off. Others may work, but are not optimal. 2 x 2 is only an example."

" Cultivation under high photosynthetic photon flux density (PPFD) using LED technolo-gy is an emerging technique, and depending on your plant-growth facility, there may be some environmental variables you need to adjust in order to achieve your cultivation goals. We understand that every species requires different environmental conditions to optimize plant growth, and we en-courage all growers to experiment and pursue their own cultivation strate-gies based on the crop being grown. We have compiled this guide based on years of research and best-prac-tice data from growers around the world to supplement your growing style and knowledge — and help you get healthier plants and higher yields"
