well the title is where I plan on being in about 6 months. as of now I do got a perpetual in a 8.5x 4.5x4.5 homemade pvc/panda film tent. 600 and 400 watt hps and 3 supplemental led in 5 gal and 1 gal pot using ffof soil. im in the process of gathering all the tlo soil ingredients for when I harvest so I have dirt with no nutrients in it. as far as the auto water system, I am very interested in this product called auto- pot. the pot size goes perfect with the planned sea of green growing style. also since I plan on using only supersoil and no nutrients I don't have to worry about the water lines getting clogged or dirty. I only have about 13or so plants now and watering is already getting annoying. in January im getting rid of the grow tent and upgrading to the room size mentioned above. I will be slowly gathering more lamps as the months go on probally a couple 1000 watt hps but I do plan on going full led within a year. my home is fully wired to run 15000 watt on dedicated 240v outlets through out the house. anyway this is current list of strains going now. the big ones in 5 gal pots all had about 3 week veg before flipping to flower. the ones in 1 gal pots were rooted clones to flower, no veg in between. also there is two autoflowers in the tent that spent 3 weeks at 18/6 and been on 12/12 since the flip autopilot xxl, auto AK, 2 white berry,2 o.g. Purp ( Cali genetics), blue venom, Tijuana, sky walker og, chem dawg, girl scout cookies, LSD, sage n sour, Chernobyl, 2 BC blue berry

8.5x4.5 requires no less than 1500 Kw, 12x12 requires way, way more than 3kw, more like 7k. to go full LED on that scale, and have a good grow, the cost will be immense. stick to HPS IMO

I understand I am underlit atm,bit with January around the corner constant upgrading is going to be abundant. I know led are expensive, that why I plan on getting a couple 1000 watt hps of the back and slowly adding panels along the way, with the amount of electricity I want to run, the electric bill will run up no less than 600 a month. at that point a led panel can be purchase every month/ month and a half in theoretical savings. are you by chance familiar with the gravity feeding auto pot system?

I like how some are in 3gallon pots, some are in 1 gallon. Hope the ones in the 3 gallon dont choke out the 1 gallon ones.

They are 5 gallon pots, I have all the 1 gal configured and elevated to avoid as much as possible to avoid the problem. I plan on only 1 gal except for flowered mothers in the future

That's the plan, it will really fall together in January. There is ago many failed cash croppers whereI live I can get grow equipment easily thirty cents on the dollar

Id go to the 3 gallon if your wanting to make it smaller. I used the 1 gallon for awhile and i had to water it every day. Plants grew fine, was getting about 16g per plant or so. but couldnt leave them for a weekend. That got old.

I'm starting to notice that already, are you familiar with auto pots? they work off of gravity feeding and require no electricity. all you have to do is make sure to keep the reservoir filled, they seem perfect for a sea of green that's perpetual while using tlo soil, SIDS nutrients are required and measuring for each individual plan on a regular basis would be quite a nuisance

Im familiar with them. never used them, just not a fan of plastic pots. but i run a perpetual grow with only 8 plants under my light. with smart pots my yield increased per plant by about 25 percent. I was very excited. If i was doing a sea of green, id proly look into auto pots. Just dont think its a set and forget. Got to always be monitoring it.

I understand its not a turn key system, however between gravity feeding and tlo soil I have a strong belief that everything will be simplified to the point where I can go on vacation for a week or two and have a inexperienced family member monitor with ease.

However so many unseen alterations are bound to appear in the near future that anything is likely to change. For example next Wednesday in getting five og Kush clones from the same mother cut on the same day. I plan on putting one in a 6x6 inch plastic square pot, 1 gal smart pot, 3 gal smart pot, and 5 gal smart pot and unsure on the last one. Since in theory they should all harvest the same day and they are under the same light receiving the same nutrients- ill be able to do a comparison on which pot size will benefit me with the most yield while keeping issues/variables minimal.

But bythe time they harvest and dried (70+ days) everything will be different again!

if you like that strain take that last one and turn it into a Bonsai Mum. I keep 4 strains in half liter cups year around. for just clones. Small efficient. and dont take up shit for space.
