Sounds badass. I never saw the harvest weight on your single cola plants.. How much GPW do you get under a 600w?

i don't really keep track of my weight. i would guess my last run pulled 3/4 of a pound off each 600.

i got my 2 ballasts. i hooked one up last night and need an adapter plug for the second one. i will get the plug and have it running tonight.

Cool lets see some pictures when you're done and lets hear how you like them in comparison to your old ones.
That is defiently the route im going, just gotta deposit a check and order my shizz :D

sounds like you got one hell of a setup coming together... i run a 600 lumatek. they are the shit. top of the line. but... the garage, thats is prime real estate for me lol. I dunno if i could ever give that space up for anything...hahhaa. I love my cars way to much. good luck man!

lol thanks h8,..

Hopefully soon I can find a new place for myself as well as an empty garage for some pimp rides...

until then, i'll park my car down the street and enjoy my floor space I have to work with :D

Well that sounds like a great idea but i'd rather buy one and plug it in and get started.
Maybe I should look into more.

I really like the idea of using only 1 fan...How does this look?
Looks very nice mate :)
One thing though, I would move the fan to the other side of the lights. The fan will perform better staticly speaking on the negative side ;)
Plus if you ever decide to add co2, you will not have to do major mods to it ;) The way it sits now you will eventually develop air leeks on the positive side.

Looks good!

air leaks on the positive side are much better than on the negative side...

having filtered air leak into your grow room will not be a problem... having grow room air leak into your filtered air stream will definitely be noticeable...

That makes a lot of sense but wouldnt the carbon filter where it is placed now make a problem if there were any leaks after the entry point.

what if I moved the fan behind the lights, as well as the carbon filter at the VERY end, and seal the end of the filter to the exhaust and blow out NOTHING but carbon filtered air..

>??

I'm not choosing between one or the other mate, just trying to tell the man how to avoid them all together.
The fan will also perform most efficiently with the least amount of static resistance on the positive side.

I'm not sure if you use a fan speed controller, but if your fan exceeds the carbon filters performance cfm you will need one. For example, I have a 260cfm 6" Fantech fan, static resistance may subtract 40cfm, that leaves me with 220 cfm. If I use a 200 cfm can33 carbon filter I will need to throtle back my fan by 20 cfm in order to not exceed the carbon filters specifications.

I usualy do not like the idea of reversing the carbon filter for the simple reason that it voids the prefilter. This will cause a significant static increase over time due to clogging. I guess you could do it if the fan was strong enough to overcome the static resistance, but it would surely not be eficient in the long run.

Good luck mate!

Personally I would isolate the light exhaust system completely from the grow op, I know it's an extra fan, but it makes it a lot easier to implement co2 at a later time etc.

That is how I was originally going to do it, but it's going to have to wait until after my first harvest.

I called and they told me shipping would not be 161$, it would be more about 60. But thats without a carbon filter so I think im going to buy a carbon filter locally because of there weight.

Speed controllers are only around 20$ right? :D

You wont even need a speed controller. If your using one fan for a filter and TWO hoods, your gonna want all the air-flow you can get. Or go big and get a 10" vortex fan. Just get ducting reducers for the hoods.

Or, do what your gonna do in the diagram and add another fan in between the hoods for more assurance.

edit: speed controllers also make your fan have a loud "humm" to it as they are not made to work with controllers. So iv'e read.
