Yeah, I disagree with the use of them... I don't understand how it's cost effective for a power company to even install those. I understand it would make it to where they wouldn't have to come up and read it themselves but those things must cost thousands and thousands of dollars. You think theyd just underpay their workers like they usually do and call it a day... Bad strategy General Electric... Bad strategy...

in the states they have began removals in some areas. on the stop smart meter web site there are printable signs that we can post on our meter to stop them. so far for the most apart hydro guys are respecting the no meter signs. wrapping tin foil around them stops their signals but then you might get charged for tampering with it

They are already starting to remove smart meters and putting back in the old analog ones because of the bad health effects the smart meters cause.

Homeowners should just tell the electric company they can't come onto your property.

Smart meter, smarter human. At least, that's the way it should be.

unfortunatly with them owning the meters and we are basicaly renting or leasing the equipment that gives them a legal right to gain axcess. if not they get a warrant. ....from what i read anyways

I hope you guys realize in America the federal government BY LAW mandates power companies promote "efficiency" programs. If they are audited and deemed to be insufficient they fine the shit out of the power companies.

Don't blame your power companies for this. They are just trying to keep from being fined.

Ask yourself this.... Why the hell would the power company care about smart meters? All they want to do is sell their product.

that would be nice to see this electricty not be a monopoly system and have a choice who to do bizz with like we now can for other utilities...took to many years to get the others to open up.
funny people could sue microsoft for monopolizing his stuff but we cant for our power co???.

If you could buy your electricity from multiple companies, the costs would sky rocket. You can't store electricity so it has to be made and immediately consumed....

I wish more people understood the industry...

funny since my phone and cable has competition now its gotten cheeper. the other guys love stealing the bizz so they need some incentive for us to switcdh over and i dont think a higher rate will make us switch
the system here still runs on the origianl grid for what they have here. just pay rent to the other for line useage rather than rewiring the whole country, within our home its new but the poles down the roads they share...it is here anyways..we used to have 1 phone...1 tv and no choice. now we do have choice and nobody ran new wire throughout bc for this. they share lines...here tv sell phone now and vice versa

And I LOVE her comment when she said "solar energy is a great energy saver...and its incompatible with these meters"...how the fuck is a form of energy that you make yourself and supply yourself incompatible with a SIMPLE electronic device that detects how much wattage is going through it and has NOTHING TO DO WITH IT...dear god someone needs to shoot dumb people "We have all this scientific and technical evidence to prove we are right"...is it the same scientific evidence that proves jesus is real too? these werent tested and have now been p0rven unsafe. is why they are now taking them out. its not so much the idea..its we have no say in what we put ourselves at risk with. nobody can force me to use worelss unless i want to. up here in canada we have something still called a choice. its faded state side i think but they fool you to think it still
they also have been tested to not do what the lying co says they do. they are a privacy issues with being able to look at any wireless info we use in our home..like what we do on here if wir4elss or cell calls. now they can see it if they want. this dam meter is allowing them to grab other info than what they say it is only for. we asked this to stop till more research was done on the what and how..they said to bad and forced this..thats not how things work up here anyways. we have a say here still....seems to work to as they are being stopped now

she had good points that its us that saves the energy...not a meter. the meter wont turn a light off or something down to save energy nor do they tell you what to do. its for them and them only.
there is no bennefit to us the consumer. cept we spend more taxes to pay for this. so i lost...not saved already and it hasnt even been fully implemented yet

you paid taxes to have a utility company upgrade their hardware? sounds pretty fucked up to me and I'd be lobbying my state congress to cut that shit out as the utility companies make plenty of money

we pay tax to utility co always. not just this. if they dont spend they dont get the budget next year means someones heads rolling for the job. this is why some waste money on this crap. so they can show big gov we need a higher budget for operating cost next year
i believe i read back some here that someone was even billed for his meter.
anyone growing will be ficked by these to. there are meters in new appliances that shows what was turned on throughout the day. so they can account for a stove, fridge and so on...where is the meter in the ballast...now they think something is up and pay a visit. that alone i think is reason to fight this
its more we are slowly being told by big man that we have no privacy anymore...people need to wake up to this., we are slowly loosing our rights. maybe we need to be asked next time if we ALL think its a way to save energy
a couple years back made a sliding scale for my useage and bills...so the idea is save energy..think we all get that...so why do i pay more for using less...more per kilwatt hour. its like 8 cent if i stick within a set mid range/..average use say...if i use alot it goes up per hpur..if i dont use enough i also pay more...wtf..isnt it about saving...so the only one saving is them by charging me more. it isnt worth it to me to save. or turn of lights cause it costs more per hour then. messed up system
