12/12 over summer, Nepalese landrace regs plus Blimburn chemdog #4 fem

So I have some Nepalese landrace seeds here and a few Blimburn chemdog #4 fems. Popped a few Nepalese and a chemdog around two weeks ago.

The Nepalese landrace are from a small hash farm my mate has been frequenting for a few years. Semi stabilised but still pretty raw. No idea what it's going to be like, but have several hundred seeds. Apparently real mellow smoke but interesting enough.

Hoping to reap the benefits of 12/12 over summer as running a few lights 18hrs a day really hits the room heat wise considering Im recirculating.

Hoping to be able to fit the two Nepali in a 3.3x1.6 and the chemdog in a 2x2x5 as they can fit in the closet out of site.

Sitting under a 150w qb getting 750umol/s (12h obviously) ATM. 50/50 peat/Coco mix with fresh vermicompost, some palagonite and glacial dust and 15% perlite in 2.8L pots so far (thats yacca balls on top of the medium as a wetting agent).

Will be thrown in 5 gallon fabrics when stretch sets in.

Something broke in overnight and pissed on some of the leaves from the looks of it.

Surprised how vigorous the branching is one one of the landrace. At day 16, already pushing out the 6th/7th node, and already has some well developed satellite growth. Already pushing out third node in lower branches.
IMG20221030133051.jpg
The chemdog is so different in structure. Also going onto it's 7th/8th node. I'll end up removing the lowest node as it won't turn out to be anything special.
IMG20221030133056.jpg
tbh I expected a far slower veg running 12/12 from seed, but a node every 2 days roughly is nothing to sneeze at so far. I expected satellite growth to be substantially slower.

The other landrace is going onto it's 6th node, but a bit smaller all round.

It is 25% humidity today with wet towels over the intake and 32c so not the best environment. But hey. They are still growing.

Super vigorous branching for 19 days on this landrace. Very surprising.

Moved into 3.3x1.6 tent and threw in the 240w board. Running 150w for 47500lux in the centre and 40k for the outer two plants.

Landrace left and middle, chemdog #4 right. Gotta say I'm actually having more vigorous growth running 12/12 from seed than usual even though I'm running the same DLI as I usually would at 18-20hrs which I didn't expect. Could be due to the increased stretch, better medium or warm temps though, but 8/9 nodes in 19 days for the chemdog and 7/8 for the landrace seems pretty speedy.

Looking to up pot into 5 gallon pots when they show sex. Currently in 3L pots. The landrace in the middle is already alternating lower nodes so hopefully in the next week.

Three weeks passed. This is about the time my autos usually show sex so I'm hoping they show soon. Running 12/12 from seed as I was hoping for smaller plants (wanting to cap out at 2 foot plants as I'm stuck at 5.5ft this run and would like to fit two in a 100x50). The last auto filled a 3x3 and the other close.

Will throw the larger landrace (middle) in the 70x70 in the next week or so when the current amnesia auto hangs to dry in the 3x3. She's getting close.

Day 23. One of the landrace is showing sex now and is fem which is a bonus. Moved it to the 2x2 and threw it in a 5 gallon pot.

The other landrace and the chemdog #4 (on the right) are going well, but no signs of pre flower.
IMG_20221105_100457.jpg
Both the landrace are already popping 11 finger leaves up the top node or two. These might be interesting. Every plant that has shown early 11/13 blades end up being hard to control and usually sativa dom.

Day 25. The landrace that showed sex is in full steam. Was pushing out the 10/11th node so I topped her back to the 8th node and removed the bottom node giving 7 strong sets of branches hopefully. She started to bleed immediately.

The chemdog (left) topped at the 7th and removed the bottom as well. The other landrace topped at the 8th with the bottom node removed.

What a nice, clean setup! I'm excited to see how those landrace seeds stretch for you. I've never done a long flowering sativa so I love to watch the journals on them. Hope you have a great flower cycle.

If the other two show sex soon, and flower sets in quick I might stick with photos 12/12 instead of autos as they basically function the same. Saves me power, helps with heat and I have hundreds, if not thousands of photo seeds stashed away.

I expected less node growth and more internode spacing for sure.

Cheers. I am a bit worried about stretch, but I can always top them back a few more nodes. I'm interested to see how these landrace go as they are apparently high altitude indicas but have the structure and 11 blade leaves of a sativa.

I'm trying to keep on top of cleanliness as I'm in a wrap around closet with carpet, and recently ran into issues with mould due to lack of circulation. Installed an exhaust fan in the roof which removes some of the stagnabt warm air. Can't vent out the room as I'm hiding the setup in uni accommodation sadly, but a hidden exhaust fan in the closet is doing the job as it used to get stuffy in there.

I thought about a 12/12 from seed run but I like to let them veg to develop the terpenes and get fully mature. I always have more than I need so I'm not in a rush to harvest a certain quantity.
I just remember reading a breeder recommended 60 days of veg for full terpenes development and it made sense. 12/12 is a quick way to go through photo periods though and I like the selection of photo period strains better than most all autos. Bubba Trouble from Magic Strains was an exception to that rule and was really potent and yielded crazy for autos.
We just went legal here about a year ago, so I can totally appreciate the need for stealth.
The landrace sounds really interesting, hope you get some killer buds from them.

Day 29. Moved both the plants in pre flower together. Chemdog #4 on the left and landrace on right. Don't know what these seeds are, but they don't look like landrace imo. Have probably a thousand of them or more, so if they do go okay at least I'm stocked.
IMG_20221111_140604.jpg
Just gave the other landrace a good watering so new growths a bit curly. Not to mention it's 31c and 25% humidity in the tents over the last three days. This one doesn't seem to be taking to the dry temps. Still on veg, starting to stretch but no signs of pre flower.

The bigger "landrace" has a nice structure though. No training so far bar the topping and it seems to be training itself with the branches kinda weaving into the light automatically.

Kept the two flowering plants and gave one of the landrace away to a mate in need. Put a chemdog #4 and a strawberry cough in another tent to germ.

Not much going on ATM.

Day 36
Landrace going well. Started pre flowering a week before the chemdog but looks to have a good stretch period.
IMG_20221117_144853.jpg
Chemdog #4 went Into crown set the second I topped it lol...no pre flower period. .crazy how strains react to a 12/12 schedule from birth differently.
IMG_20221117_144801.jpg
She Gunna be tiny, it's only 19" tall lol. At least I know you give the chemdogs some veg next time. The "landrace" seems to have no probs with the 12 hour schedule. Strawberry cough germinated and will be interested to see how it goes 12/12 from birth.

This base potting mix recipe I've used over the last four plants seems to fit the bill well so far. The last amnesia went around 100 days on tap water without any top dressing.

The only difference between the last run and this one is that I'm using 2 tablespoons organic 3:1:3:1 slow release per pot instead of the previous 8:4:10 at potting, and I'll be adding 2 tsp 8-12-16 around week four of flower.

Basically functions as a water only super soil but way simpler. Yard soil cut 60/20/20 with Coco and uxp pumice, 5L of vermicompost and a handful or two of rock dust. The only actual feed put in is the vermicompost and two tablespoons of slow release.

The amnesia a few posts above went it's whole life on tap water. Never checked a parameter bar temp and humidity once. I used to overcomplicate everything.
