12/12 no flowers

I don't know what is going on with a batch I've just put into flower.

I had a few spare clones left over and I through them into flower after a good 4 weeks vegging after they had roots.

Originally the clones had preflowers as they were from and old mother.

They have now been on 12/12 for 4 weeks. I have checked for light leaks dozens of times thinking I'm going insane.

It's pitch black in there not a single speck of light..

4 weeks in they have only a couple of preflowers at the base of the plants..

I am using my 6500k t5ho that I had spare...
Wasn't expecting much out of them so didn't care about low yields...

Can 6500k t5 cause delay in flowering?

Only other thing I can think of is that I have them crammed in a small space. As I am limited for space but didn't care about yields so figured I'd toss them in.

Plants are completely healthy otherwise nice lush green leaves, not a single issue with them...

Anyone have any ideas of what can cause delayed flowering other than light leaks? As it's definitely not a light leak. I've even turned the lights down to 10 hours on recently instead of the 12 hoping it will help them along but still nothing

good thing you dont care about low yields. turning the lights down to 10 on will decrease yields even more, so..
pics, strain, feed, substrate, geesh, why the secrets?

Interesting! About double the usual time. I'll be thinking about this.
You might get a bunch of opinions here on RIU, from personal experiences of complex situations, rarely carefully controlled experiments with only one differing factor.
It's great for gathering lots of angles to consider, but it's rarer to move past the hypothesis stage.
I'm almost always left wishing to see some carefully controlled experiments :P

"Originally the clones had preflowers as they were from and old mother."
--- Are these preflowers that old mothers normally show in veg, or are you saying that you'd started flowering the mother and they had some revegging to do while rooting?

However the tops of these clones no longer have any preflowers. Apart from the odd very small preflowers that doesn't have any hairs coming out of them yet

Isnt 6500k way far toward the blue spectrum? Wouldn't that hinder flowering? Im far from a pro but i thought you need much more of the red spectrum to flower... i used to use 6500k bulbs to grow mushrooms because shrooms like light in the blue temperature range.

Yeah I agree they aren't ideal however they were just spare clones I would of thought yield would be less however I'd be happy with 6 oz from 15 clones as it's basically free bud.

Didn't expect flowering to take longer due to it though?

Don't plan on buying any new bulbs as I'm replacing everything with cobs soon.

Don't see why I would need to change bulb to initiate flower?

its the color spectrum they look for, kinda like the season from summer to fall....buy ya some cfls that are 2700k in colors box of 4 are normally about 9 bucks in the US and hang them...that should start it

the plant uses red light energy to grow flowers. now i dont think thats enough to keep them from flowering entirely but you are a fool if you expect 6oz off 15 plants under a single t5ho. sounds like you have a light leak, because after 4 weeks of 12/12 you should be well into flowering. if youre not going to put in some money and real effort youre not going to get anything for the tiny amount of work you are putting in

I already have 8000w of cobs ready to go in my other room so putting money into it isn't the issue.

I don't have just one t5ho it's a 650w 8 bulb fixture.

6oz was a random number. Its just a daft few clones I had spare. I was saying I don't care what I get out if it. Its free bud rather than going in the bin.
Only posted to see if anyone has experienced delayed flowering for any other reason other than light leak.

As I say there is definitely 100% sure no light leak as I have went in several times and I can't see my anything it's pitch black.

I already have a system going where I get 40 oz a harvest on a regular basis. These are just scrap so it isn't about not putting effort in. I could go buy red bulbs but I'm more interested in knowing if cannabis actually requires red lights to start flowering. As there is definitely a reason they aren't flowering and it definitely isn't a light leak

Leave them in complete darkness for atleast 24 hours
Then put the lights back in 12/12
Have you fed any bloom boosters yet try that
It might help start flowering
