DAY 82 / DAY 42
HARVESSSTTT DAAAAAAAY.
FUCK YEAH!
i actualllllly got like NO PICTURES from today guys. lmao. no kidding. mostly because i hate the lighting in my room and i really wanted to take them to my back porch in the sunlight for some final pictures, but i couldnt because there were people at my house with my roommate who i didnt want to risk seeing me come downstairs with the plants.
but i trimmed for literally OVER 6 hours and in the end this is what i got:
i didnt bother weighing it because of how much of the stem there is still remaining at this point, but i took plenty pictures. lmao. and as you can see, yes im drying them right in my room. LOL . i hope i haven't underestimated the extent to how far throughout the house the smell will linger .. lol. o well. ill be ok. i have these ONA gel blocks that i will strategically place in the house that im hoping will help at least a little. i have 6 of them. other then that im just winging it honestly. haha. i had no where else i could consistently control the environment. it will only be a week max before they are ready to jar, and the smell will dwindle i hope (i dont hope). haha. ill let you guys know how it goes. so far they smell very very strong like grapefruit actually, and just really sweet. but the smell isnt getting farther then my room at this point. although its been less then 12 hours ..... more like 6. LOL. i may wake up tomorrow and my entire house smells like a fruit salad.
temperatures will stay 70-75 for sure. humidity may get down to 35% at worst. but usually a consistent 40-50%. i have a 12" oscillating fan about 15-20ft back keeping the air circulating in the relative area so im confident my area is suitable. ill try to keep my lights off as much as possible. but to be honest im not truly worried about it at all. the amount of THC that is actually broken down by SUNLIGHT is extremely negligible considering its not months or years im leaving them in the sun. im not leaving them in the sun at all. im going to put sheets over those windows in the morning and my entire room is lit by a single 1600 lumen CFL i placed on the total opposite corner from the buds. and ill keep it off when i can. but i plan on curing them in total darkness of course..

im going to put either a bookshelf, or cabinet, wardrobe, etc. something like that, in front of those 2 ventilation ducts leading to my window so its not so blatant. haha. i just haven't really found anything yet.

great job ill let u know what i yeild in a month. btw kitchen scales are accurate enough (nearest gram) and u can pick em up for less than $20 at most hardware stores

i appreciate the love my friend. i think your right about it being closer to 4. i did a pretty thorough mental estimate of dry weight last night, and i was severely underestimating but i still came up with 3 1/2 oz. lets hope that comes to pass!
and also, i do have a scale already. its a nice big digital one. got it for $60. about 6x6 in. surface area. and it came with calibration weights and a loading tray. i just haven't weighed them yet because there is still so much stem remaining at this point. im just not even gonna weigh them wet and wait till they are dry and ready to jar.

I finished 2 plants, my big bomb which had super nice tight buds but was a bit small and the white widow which was nice and big and had lots of bud but it wasnt very dense. after drying for a few days i have a bit over an oz. between the two plants which isnt horrible but a long shot from my goal of an oz per plant for 4 plants hahaha. Its too bad you werent able to wait an extra week or 2 for your plants hey? but i understand the circumstances all the same they look awesome, nice and tight and covered in crystals. Ive got a couple pics up in my journal if you want to check them out

sooooooooo ... guys. lol .the grapefruit bud was FIRE. omg. lol. it was 90 GRAMS DRY WEIGHT. 3.2 oz. definitely made my goal of 2 oz. NICE. im so proud of myself. lol. it gives a very cerebral, happy and uplifting high. i fucking love it. lol. and i have so much to keep me happy

IVE NEVER HAD SO MUCH BUD IN MY LIFE! haha. everything dried even, slow and PERFECT. they have been curing in jars for almost 20 days now. the bud is SO DANK. reeks of sweet smelling grapefruit. also the bud is very very VERY light and fluffy. seems very medicinal if you ask me. real high grade shit. lol. SATIVA STYLE BITCH!
as for the blue widow plants they are doing FANTASTIC. even better then the grapefruit were looking at this age. only issue (which isn't even an issue) is that one of the two blue widow plants is giving a taller phenotype which large internodal distances. the other is very short and compact. and so to remedy this.. i began to LST or tie down the plant when it was at 20 in. and the other was only 15. this is creating the structure of the plant which resembles how they grapefruit were grown. like an "S" shape. its great because all the buds get such wonderful exposure to the light in this position. heres some pics:

this is just a quick update because i had the time to take some pics this morning. enjoy. THE GIRLS ARE STARTING TO TURN BLUE!!!
today is the first day of wk4 of flower for the blue widow. im beginning to feed PK 13/14 today..
blue widow #1: DAY 56 - 27 in.
you can really tell how the inside leaves are turning deep blue in the pictures with the flash OFF. i tried to get a close up. night time temps are between 55-60F by the way..

from seed my plants (graefruit) should be the same age as yours were @ harvest, hairs just starting to orange, thc still pretty clear gonna feed 3 of them 1 more week and flush 1 week the other 2 will feed 2 more weeks before the flush

buuuuut im gonna let this thread die now. lol. i will maybe make a new thread for the purple OG im growing and whatever plant will be behind that next month. but as for this thread im gonna end it with the harvest of these blue widow plants.
UPDATE:
DAY 66-72
the blue widow's look and smell absolutely wonderful at the moment. this is they're 6th week of flower. 7th week starts on sunday. the smell is of sweet blueberry or candy-like aroma w/ a pungent dankiness of indica resin. lol the inside leaves surrounding all the fruit is very blue. you can tell in the pictures fairly well, but in person it is very distinct the hues of blue throughout the buds. on both plants.
both plants remained very healthy and were also managed quite well. #1 needed no training at all and stands short and stout at 28in. #2 required a bit of LST but only a light training. she is 29-30in tall at her canopy. neither of them (thank god) grew to be the untamed beasts that were my previous plants. lmao. the grapefruit plants were both 50+ inches. i was barely able to keep them in my space long enough to finish. lol
as for production, #2 looks like she has alot more weight on her then #1 who grew naturally straight. but BOTH seem to for sure be putting on at least 1 oz each if not closer to 1.5. #2 might end up with 2oz on her. lol. they still have almost 2 weeks to go. compared to my previous plants (grapefruit sativa) they are smaller, and therefore seem to be giving a slightly smaller yield. BUT the grapefruit buds were very light and not as dense as the fruit on these plants are becoming. so im hoping it will even out. the grapefruit dry weight was 3.2oz (90g) .. and so im really hoping for 3oz from these blueberry plants (84g). if not at least 2.5oz (70g). its not massive yields but obviously thats not what im going for here with 12/12 from seed. this is all personal consumption and in fact 2oz on a plant 28in WOULD actually be a major win for a 12/12 from seed attempt. so i cant wait to see how everything turns out in these next few weeks!

sooo ive decided to only take down one of the blue widow plants tonight. im going to give the other one (#1) another week to fatten up a bit. but i felt #2 was on schedule for harvest after this week so i went for it. it was an awesome experience doing this for the second time now, and i even have prepared myself to make some hash tomorrow. i bought extraction bags (micron filter bags) and im gonna take all the cuttings i gathered and try to make a bit of hash with them tomorrow. its not much so im curious if any will come out at all. lol. ill keep you guys posted, but either way im so anxious for these buds to dry !!! they smell like straight up blueberry candy. very fruity smell mixed with like a dank ass smell of resin. lol. i love it. they smell and look literally delectable.

I didn't take any, I'm sorry. I got more on the way so maybe take a rain check this time. I really like it tho, shared most of it with friends although I kept a bag for myself. I didn't honestly think I would get that much and because I have more on the way I shared it with some close friends.
is there a way to snap pic with iPhone and post like that? Is it safe to do that? I have no need for a camera or computer so that's the only way I will be able to post.
