as some of you know, I've been running a probiotic sip, it's gg4, with 33 days till chop, 1 plant covering a 4x4, my goal with this method was once it's planted and the trash bag covers the top, I never do anything at all. other than weekly top off the sip with water an em1!

well my problem is when I first started this, I didn't plan to make her so big, bc she's massive! if I would have known I would have used a bigger tote than 18g (running 30g next round). I'm positive next run if I use a 30g sip, I won't have to touch anything from time I plant the girl in to harvest!

but since I did turn her into a monster with 33 days left on the clock I'm noticing a very very fast nitrogen deficiency starting! literally 2 days ago she was perfect, but it's spreading fast!

so I have to feed her something, I don't wanna mess with my system, so I must top water something! and I hate top watering! but my problem and question is what to water in???? I literally have just about every organic amendment you can think of (you collect over the years lol)

I've thought about maybe a very small 1/4 of water and high n guano, or maybe kelp and alfalfa? I'm really not sure, I don't wanna throw things off, but at the same time it's a must that I get some nitrogen to this girl so she doesn't start the fade for at least another week or 2!!

so what do you guys think? I'll post a video after this, and also below is almost every type of amendment and stuff that I have on hand! FYI, no most of things I don't currently still use, but that don't mean I should Trash it! for example I haven't touched the blood or bone meal in a few years, but I've got tons of it lol!

another buddy of mine also suggested a great idea, his opinion was to mix incet frass, kelp and some compost, top dress it and lightly water it in, I kinda like this the best for 2 reasons 1 I have the stuff on hand, and 2 it's nothing that isn't already in the soil, but possibly running low on!

like i said I wouldn't even have thus issue if I didn't decode to make her so big! originally the scrog was only going to be 2x2, but she grew so fast and big I figured why not! but I see now in order for my method to work at this size I need much more soil for the girl to have her fill! the other sips are doing great, but they are also half the size of this monster!

my next experiment will be using a 30g tote and planting 2 or maybe 3 girls in it at once! it will cut down my veg time! and I should be able to get the same results! the entire idea of this is to set it up and forget about it! having to only fill my rez once a week, and do absolutely nothing else is amazing! never have to worry about feeding, or top dressing, just nothing! but in order to grow this size, I'll need bigger sips!

but I'm going to run either 3 or 4 sips in my 5x5 using the 18g totes and scrog them all as one, and in the 4x8 I'm going to do 2x 30g sips, one of each side with their own 4x4 scrog! at least that's my goal! regardless this was a complete success! and I may have just found the last method I ever use for growing! just gotta tweak it a lil bit! over all I'm one happy grower!

well I'll get some pics soon, been a crazy past few days! but looks like I'm only going into this comp with 3 beans now, the fourth sprouted, but is doing some weird shit, I think it's gunna die, I'm kinda wondering if the hps has dried it out or something! never in my life have I used a dam 1k hps to sprout beans! could have a lot to do with it!

...and yes its as far away as possible! I'm not a complete idiot.... just about half

not to bitch about the rules but, I feel we should get like 7 days or something under a regular light or 18/6, with my set up using a veg and a flower room, it's unfortunate but in order to be on 12/12 I have no choice but to start under 1k hps! and I feel that's what killed my 4th!

You're not the only one, GT256... I'm now working with three solos myself... It was my fault, I believe...I really packed the medium tight on one in specific, and the soil was premoistened... I kept a dome over the poor critter too long and the soil just didn't dry as usual...

It's kinda funny that when you're in a contest or challenge, you might be tempted to stray away from your normal, proven methodologies... and sometimes the experiments go awry... but I've got three robust seedlings, on the bright side...

In situations like this, one must read between the rules. My suggestion would be to use "Screen" of some sort to filter the light intensity down to a range the seedlings can handle. you can do this a few different ways. Steal wool on a clear party cup would rough up the surface and filter some light out. I used the canopy of my larger plants to shade my solo cups last round.

yea I guess putting them under the canopy of the gg4 would have a been a better option, too bad I didn't think its been a crazy few days, way too much going on, but I got 3 for sure that are great, so I'm good and still in the race, when lights come on Ill know for sure about that 4th one!
