1000w hps vs led (quantum boards and CBX 3590 cobs) results are under way

Ok guys iv been consistently noticing differences between my thousand watt high-pressure sodium and my optic one XL’s and even my mars Hydro TS series.... Strains I’m currently working with our white widow and black widow both from ilgm.... I’ve grown start to finish 40 black widows it’s probably the most stable strain I’ve ever worked with every single plant has grown the exact same way there were no hidden monsters or runts...they all look like carbon copy’s of each other...it’s freaky how identical they have all been....Anyways I have two underneath my xxxl magnum hood thousand watt magnetic ballast running full power glass is (....) away from tops bulb is hortilux super high pressure sodium single ended...my cbx3590 Cree cobbs (optic 1 xl’s) ar 16”away from tops and the plants are waaaaaaaaaaaay further alone than the hps I’d say at least 1 week probbily closer to 2.... solid cola can sized buds 10” down that doesn’t sound impressive but black widow is an extreamly foliage dense plant and the buds grow over big fan leafs so I can’t cut them out... their rock hard legs and bounds more dense then the hps their crystals are way more abundant as well and the Resin resinout put is suck that after rubbing 1x on a main top I can press my thumb on a 25foot metal tape measure and lift it up in the air and shake for a few sec without it falling....the hps I can’t even lift it into the air...also the branches on the optic 1xl’s are extreamly robust the hps are very bouncy I did have to the the branches up on week 4 flower because they where so heavy....the mars hydro tsl-2000 grown white widow is also at least 2nweeks further along than the hps however her branches are very week the tent is holding her together along with plant ties anchored to the tent polls....her buds are about 2-3x bigger than the white widows under the hps....all plants where vegged 6 weeks from seed and flipped 4 way lst and swazzing them at flip then again at the start of week 3 will post pics in a moment of my findings

I started my current grow under my 1000w mh/hps lights and two weeks in my Diablos came in. I don’t think I’d go back to hid lighting but I’ll know when I harvest for sure. In the next month I’m going to drop more coin and get two more.

If QB LED even only got say 90% yield of HPS, I'd stick with my QB's. The amount I save on electrical, both lights and the complete removal of AC from my grows, the quiet, the lifespan of the units, the instant on and off without strikers and cooldown times, no vented hoods and cumbersome ducting, and just generally happier plants are enough.

The fact I have surpassed my old GPW with LEDs is just a bonus to me. A real nice bonus. Like a fat check at Christmas

I’m with you. If I get 90% gpw I’ll still win because I can upgrade my 4x8 room to a 10x10 room and be barely over the power consumption I was using for 2 1k Hid’s, and cooling. Saving an entire circuit in my house to upgrade my 4x8 veg tent. All the way around I am also very happy. I’ll never regret the switch

No doubt, yeah my power bill is about the same now with 2900+ watts of LED spread across 4 tents as it was with a single 1000W HPS and AC and fans running constantly.

I'll figure this site out eventually I guess....lmao

All but 1 of these 8 popped above ground on the same day...the one that didn’t pop that day popped the next day

Ya dude hanging up a 34lb hood in a tent is a bitch........I feel your pain lol
Def switching over to leds some one told me the hlg has a contract with Samsung for first pic of diodes and everyone Else gets second pickings I don’t know if there’s truth to that though either way cobs are the way to go in my opinion

Thanks for posting, HPS side looks way better I believe. Look at the fluidity of the white hairs!!!!! Nice side by side. Nothing beats that hortilux single ended imo for quality.

I can grow fantastic plants with my 'knockoff' Chinese boards, and they look the same as the ones under my legit HLG boards. It's not like I get monsters under one and runts under another.
I haven't done a laboratory grade examination of buds on specific plants, etc, but visually, no discernable difference. Plant to plant, they yield in the same range. And those yields are better than my best HPS yields, gpw wise.

Never done the COB thing, but I have been tempted quite a bit recently. And QB96's, I really want to try those.
