1000w hps vs 1000w mh for veg

I have a switchable hps/mh 1000w ballast and a hortilux 1000w hps bulb. Should I get a 1000w mh for veg or just use my hps? If I get a MH what kind of bulb should I use? I don't really want to spend $200 on a bulb, $100 maybe but only if its gonna be worth it.

So I guess my question is, should I go with a cheap mh or my hortilux hps for veg?

mh is for veg and hps is for flowering, the plant requires different spectrums of light to grow properly imo

Hortilux bulbs are spectrally enhanced and the HPS bulb will put out enough blues. You will do just fine using the hps bulb.

The metal halide will give you tighter nodal spacing in vegetative growth and just general overall better growth for the vegetative stage but you could use your high pressure sodium and it will still work well.

Now if you really want to give your plants a mix of light spectrums purchase one of the 1000-watt bulbs that puts off 600-watts of high pressure sodium light and 400 watts of metal halide light.

uh why did you buy a 1000 watt light when you dont even know which bulbb is for veg and which is for flowering what a whiteboy
Did you read my post or just the title? I know HPS is better for flower and MH is better for veg. My question was if it would be worth it to get a MH light instead of just using my HPS. The reason I already have an HPS is because I got mature plants last time and put them straight into flower.

get a mh - it will give you denser plants with closer node spacing
What brand of bulb would you suggest?

I just got a call telling me that I can pick up my clones whenever. I'm thinking of just sticking them under my HPS for now. Would it hurt to leave them under HPS for a week then switch to a MH?

Thanks for the help. I ordered a Hortilux 1000w MH. I will probably pick up my clones tomorrow and put them under my HPS until the MH gets here. I need to get another grow going, it looks like I'm gonna run out of weed before my next harvest.
