ok got some news about the lighting .....like i said many times my grow room is 4'L X 2'W x 6'H now i got a deal coming in this week for a hps kit complete only thing i need to buy is the bulbs........i got a choice of either 1000w hps or 600w hps for 75.00 usd my ? is do you think a 1000w hps in that size of a closet is overkill??? please note im keepin the closet doors open .......

the heat would be monstrous in that size of a closet, like jumping into a sauna with a bonfire ok maybe not that bad but still pretty heavy

even with the door wide open during lighting hours and havin some fans blowin into the grow room?????

thats pretty big id go with 600watt

1000w could cover a 6x6 area adequately, probably even more.

Get a 600W and look into getting some ducting and putting a fan in it, placing the ducting near the light and suck the heat out of the room if you can. 600W still makes the temperature in my grow room (its a full sized bedroom) rise to about 90 (goes down to 75 when its off).

If you had a room to use the 1000 on a celling fan with the motor governed at a close to stand still speed would flower alot of crops but you need the room

Either light will require fan venting in that area. I get very little heat from my 1000 watters or my 600 watters but I grow in rooms no less then 8x8x8.Make sure you buy a digital switchable setup as for the fe extra bucks it will save you tons of money over using magnetic ballasts with 2 ballast. New 600 watt digital switchables are only $119 new and burn both hps and mh bulbs no need for conversion use 30% less electricity, are silent weight about 4 lbs and give off 25% more light.

oh and the general rule is 400 watts for 3x3 area 600 for 4x4 and 1000 watter for 5x5 area anything outside those doesnt get equal lighting
