I use 1000 watters and have heard no talk about which may run cooler. No matter what they are hot. I will switch to 600 the next grow.

I run a 1000w too. I've also been thinking about downgrading... But I just spent so much damn money this summer on cooling stuff it would be stupid at this point.

I hear ya bro. That heat is a bitch! It sucks even in the winter! The 600 will do just as good. I grow 9 plants under a 1000 watter and get 3 oz per plant. Life would be easier with a 600 and i would grow the same amount of weed.

I know. That's the kick to the teeth. When you see growers with 600w in the same space get the same size buds. But I added a new air cooled reflector, AC unit, and duct fan/work to bring in fresh air from outside. I've also been looking into Co2 in the near future. Kick the AC down a notch let the plants deal with some heat and suck up a shitload of Co2 in the process...

I feel ya on spending money on all the a/c money. even the ducting gets expensive when your paying 7-10 bucks for elbows and ts. I just wasnt sure if for some reason diff bulbs ran cooler, and/or if older bulbs ran hotter than newer

yah, its just a compromise really trying to use that kinda light when heat/space is an issue. i had to ditch mine and use CFL's, even after i had ran a/c duct for the room. If you have the money/time then get an air cooled reflector with proper ventellation

exactly I dropped $300 on an air cooled reflector, plus another $300 or some in-lines and ducting. Then another $100 on an AC unit because after all that stuff it still wasn't cool enough.

Weed will grow just fine at 90 deg f. My room always ran that hot. My problem to was the low humidity.
