I did hydroponics right from the beginning its pretty simple, too. It kinda depends on how much room you have and what your objectives are. Me, I wanted a small stealth cabinet and not too powerful of lights so that led me to scrog, which therefore leads me to hydro. I made my own hydro setup its not hard if you're mechanically inclined. But if you have space for a couple of grow rooms then you can start with soil, too. Either-or.

How big a harvest did you want? Is it just for personal use and a few friends, or do you want to deal? Its never a bad idea to start small and as you learn you can improve your system. After every grow I refit my room and every harvest has been better quality and better yield.

There's lots of stuff you can buy on Amazon and elsewhere. For starters, I'd look for a 250W or 400w HPS for flowering, and 150W and up Flourescent or MH for veg. With cooltubes, preferably. A fan/carbon filter combo for each room (or at least the flower room, veg room nowhere near as stinky) and either a couple of tents or build a couple of rooms. Me, I have both a flower and a veg chamber in one of those portable closets you can buy at Home Depot, with one fan/filter for the whole cab. Perennial scrog; fairly small footprint and still can generate 5-7 zips every 10-12 weeks. Well, that's an estimate; I just upgraded to 400W hps so that's what I'm hoping for.

And final advice, don't waste your time with bag seed! Spend $40 at Nirvana and know that your efforts will be worthwhile!

yeah its not cheap but the results are amazing, if you had a look at my link you saw the last photos, two weeks difference in flower means a lot in hydro, my nephew comes over and always mentions how much bigger my shit is than his started at the same time in soil.

Good luck mate. Lol... not to be a dick but IMO its better to learn in soil because the grower is able to see how their nutes and atmosphere affect their plants with out as many drastic negative affects as you would see in a hydro setup as a new grower....... I started out in hydro.. I should know.

Nonsense! It's not that difficult. If you got $100 to spend then they're downright easy.
I'd spend that on the air pump alone but thats just me, my first grow was done with shitty little air pumps and me not knowing a thing other than what I read here.
