100 watt LED Flood Lights For Growing

I use little led bulbs in veg, that pull 15 watts. They cost $10 at walmart. I'm slowly replacing cfls with these powerful little guys. The plants love it, and grow fatter. Some of these floodlights for $30 are a steal. I'm going to try one of them. Why not try it? If you can't afford cobs but want led, grab some.
I am like you, I want to change. lol Running 1000 watt HPS.

If you don't mind paying for the bill a 1kW HPS produces, you should shell out for some quality COBs. You'll get the same results for less than half wattage. LED panels make this claim, but they fall far short and aren't the same. COBs were created to replace HPS and MH in industrial highbay/lowbay factory and warehouse applications.

Ok, rule of thumb, how much spacing in between COB lights? Mostly what I am seeing is people are sticking 4 cobs in a 1ft square box and calling it 800 watts. (EBAY)I need them spaced out more than that. I thought I could space these cheap ones out and benefit me more. So my question is how many watts and how spaced? I was in the process of looking when I saw your comment. Thanks

No, no. Stay away from eBay and Amazon. Check out some of the sponsors of RIU.

If it doesn't use Cree CXB3590s, Vero29s, Citizen CLU048/058 1212s/1818s (clearly I have never used Citizens, but the consensus is that they are among the top producers such as Cree and Bridgelux/Vero) and if it doesn't use Meanwell Drivers, it's junk. Anything from China? Junk.

Talk to @Rahz and @CobKits. Rahz owns Tasty if you want to buy a prefabricated fixture, and CobKits supplies all the parts and options you need to DIY.

well i wouldnt write off the other models (cxb3070, vero22, vero 18, etc)

i think anything from those manufacturers is generally good quality even if it isnt the latest and greatest
Like I said, I'm new to this. I don't know what's inside one of the 100 watt lights unless someone on here has one or I buy and look inside. I need more of a track of lights. The only thing I know about are MH and HPS. I am ignorant to the LEDs but I am a fast learner. lol Of course I want the most for my buck.

I just meant any top models of top vendors/manufacturers. I wasn't trying to write off the smaller or older models, so I hope you will forgive my lack of clarity. I was more emphasizing the manufacturers than the models themselves.

That's what I wanted to see agree not those.

Can we seexpect your space and set up, I think these guys got you on the right path.
I have done a lot of reading since I made this post. I'm not gonna buy those 100 watters. lol I am gonna have to start out small and buy a couple COBs at a time and slowly convert over. I do appreciate all you guys help with steering me in the right direction.
Originally when I saw the price to cover my space, I fell out of my chair. lol I want to run 2, 40"x80". So that's a lot of LEDs.
