10 x 10 grow tent setup. Ideas?COB LED?

Greetings!

After a bit of a break and a small personal grow I have decided to start up a large grow.

Will be using a 10 x 10 grow tent.

I only have a few questions as I have previously grown in an 8 x 8.

Lighting? I am leaning on LED as my current grow is with LED and is doing well.

I was thinking either DIY COB with thru CREE cxb bins.

Does anyone know how much wattage and how many light I would need in a 10 x 10 to get high PAR and perfect coverage?

As for plant numbers I will be running Coco and 16 plants per 5 x 5 area with a total of 64 plants.

As watering will be an issue with a large amount of plants I will be running Bluemats or dome kind of irrigation system.

5 Gallon Pots with 8 rows of 8.

Anyone have experience with LED in a larger space?

I will be running SCROG.

Blue Dream is what I will be running for reasons most know already.

I did however think of DE, but the heat and watts is just really high and I can cur it down with cxb or LED as well as ventilation.

This would be a veg and bloom tent and looking at 4 harvests per year.

Looking at 7-8 labs per harvest out of this tent.

My nutrients will be thru maxi grow bloom and koolbloom as I adore them and liquid is just a waste of money.

I will not be using HPS at all. So please do not ask.

Regards Trippy

Looking at alot of money in leds.. In that space probably a bit less yield than hps but then I've never used led personally..i ran 14 medium/large size plants in a tent 5'9" square and man was it tight, used a thousand watt de. Could have got two more in but I needed that room to work You are in four squares that are a bit smaller even than mine each so your plant size will be smaller I take it? I slightly over vegged. You will benefit from eliminating one row as a walkway down the "middle" I think, better yet is it too late to go a bit bigger on the tent?! don't honestly know if 64 will actually fit depending on your pots, I foresee crowding issues, yes watering gets hard and such.. But it's all manageable if they fit and that's how you want to do it. Looks like you have attainable goals. Good luck

Hey mate, LED has come a long way and COBs beat HPS. Regular 5 watt diodes beat or are on par with ups with less wattage.
As for space I may eliminate a walkway, but that is quite a bit of yield loss in a profitable grow (legal). As forgot size I will be using either 3 gallon or 5 gallon pots depending. Scrog. 5 gallon pots are 14" and 3 gallons are 12" so if I got 3 gallon I can have the same plant numbers with a walkway but not sure how much that will affect yield in coco.
Also for price building a COB isn't as much as you think. Around 700 per light depending on coverage.
50w Cree diodes. Growmou5 has some killer grows with cobs among others.

10 x 10 is kinda set in stone.

My only concerns is 3 gallon vs 5 gallon Coco yield and amount of LED to cover the thru space with high PAR

Why don't you just make the switch to HPS and run 2x1000w
Again as stated above I don't use HPS anymore.. not as efficient. Second you obviously have no idea what you are talking about. 2 x 1000w will not do a 10 x 10 with good yields. If HPS it would be 4 x 1000 and With LED I can cut watts and gain weight from tested methods and other growers. Like I said above ups is off the tabled. If I was going to run HPS it would be DE, but like I said LED will kick ass , sure more expensive to build cobs but the returns are worth it.

I have decided on 3 gallons as have not seen anyond use 5 gallons in coco. grow trees in 3 gallons and can fit 64 3 gallons with plates in there. it all about light now

You should go HPS DE. Then get a 3 ton a/c for cooling. Going to be awesome bro!!!!!

DE for sure would be good say 4 1k DE, but like I said COB outperform DE with lower wattage. Mainly cutting electric costs to get higher par and same yields as a DE.

Oh i didn't know cobs out perform DE lamps. Shit sounds like 8 thousand bucks worth of lamps!!!!!!

COBs you can build yourself for 600 or less depending on amounts . they are 50w Cree cobs not the 5 w diodes we are all used to which do work and still outperform hps if you know how to grow. De is for warehouse in my opinion as the heat is slot and the watts you use for smaller grows with ac may not pay you back as much as regular ups but could be wrong as have not used de. Only bps and led.

I'd suggest having a look here

850 watts of Cree cob 15 plants coco and yield 1627 grams so 3.5lbs and 1.9 gpw...
Cobs are cannabis future.

Since folks usually use a 1K HPS for a 5x5, you'd need 4 for comparable lighting in a 10x10...

You'd probably want around 1200 par Watts of LED (or any other) lighting for that space. Depending on how hard you choose to run those COBs and which type you choose (both choices will greatly effect the fixtures' efficiency - as low as 40% for hard driven Vero29 to 60%+ for lightly driven Cree CXB3590), you'd need 2000-3000W not counting driver and reflector losses.

I am going with Cree cxb 3590. I'd say id need about 500w per 5 x 5. I have seen growmou5 harvests with his sub 400w Cree led pulling between 1.5 and 1.9gpw.
I'd say around 2000w of led plus drivers and cooling.
