10/14 light schedule will buds mature faster

Strains differ in how much darkness will trigger flower development. My current strain showed pistils at 13:40.
I tried to find out the same info you seek, on RIU, without any firm replies.
Some say they grow at night, some say during the day, so?
 
so nobody has found a way to mature pot quicker ????? weird seems like i outa try it maybe my next grow i will goto a 10 14 schedule and see what happens>>>>>>>>>>
 
they talked about trying something similar in another thread except they wanted to try a 6 on 12 off schedule. giving more necessary dark periods in less time. id like to see someone with the space to spare give it a try.
 
i kno i kno lol im just very impatient and i took a few buds off last nite quick dried em and they gotme pretty frigin high so i want the final product now. lol thabnks

ya that might be worth a try ill consider on my next gro in a few weeks
 
sure. you can go 8 On and 16 Off and the buds will probably finish a couple weeks sooner. But after waiting this long, why rush the final product when you're going to significantly reduce yield by doing so? Some people actually go from 12/12 to 14 On and 10 Off the last couple of weeks to try to increase the yield without particularly slowing down the 'maturization'. If you are in a hurry to smoke some bud then just cut off what you want to immediately smoke... dry it quickly if you like and get high. I wouldn't screw up the whole harvest over it though.
 
so i dont have apoket microscope so all i can do is look for the hairs i want to wait to about 70 percent is orange right?
cause i can look at the trics with my naked eye and see that they have poped well most of them but cant tell if there clear or cloudy so wait for 70 percent hairs tobe red/orange? correct?
 
99% of the hairs on my grow seem to retract back into the bract before it's ready.
I see no hairs, and the pots not always ready even then?
At 12 bux, a scope is really worth it . . . especially if you are particular re: the kind of buzz you want.
There's probably really no such thing as waitin' too long, but not waiting long enough is a common ailment. Take a sample or two?

As for speedin' up the weed, BushMaster is supposed to cut up to 2 weeks off a harvest time, because it ideally eliminates the stretch, which precludes the onset of massive budding?

ive tried the first part and had one of my four go back into veg on me, made for some really shitty buds so be careful if you go this route. maybe better luck sith 13/11. as for the second part i agree, this is actually what im doing right now as my grow is about a week from being done.

i dont have a scope either but i swear i can notice the trich get cloudy anyway. i just start flush when my hairs are 25% turned and harvest when theyre 85% turned.
 
I don't think I've gone that far. I usually end up close to 11 on - 13 off. The last 4 weeks or so I start adjusting my timer so they gradually get about 10 to 15 minutes less light per week and if possible, put them in the dark for 24 before harvest. I try to harvest before (or as close as possible) to the lights coming on.

i use BM and it does knock 1-2 wks off the calender as well as virtually halting vertical growth. just be carefull, the shits poison if you overdo it.
 
don't fuck around. people do things for a reason. You haven't had some incredible genius idea that nobody else has done. learn about shit. Know one that knows what they are doing would do this. inpatient people normally have pretty average herb.
 
Yo.....if they would be growing on 6/12.....what would they do the other 6 hours of the cycle?????......if u change the time the lights turn on and off....your plant is gonna hermie

the cycle runs on 18hr days not 24. there is no extra 6 hours. get it?
