i have some flowering herb on a 12/12 cycle, and i have to change the time of the 12/12 cycle, so for 1 cycle i will have to do a 10 hrs light and 10 hrs dark, to get the cycle to the time of day i need it. anyone know if this would be cool for my girls to get a 10/10 cycle for one cycle??? any help on this would be greatly appriciated.:hump:

Change the time back at the end of your light cycle. Move the time back 2 hours, and shut the timer off. In the morning when you want it to kick back on just reset the timer and you should be good.

in my opinion, i would avoid getting any less that 12 hours of darkness despite the transition. i would sacrifice light hours instead. ( 8/12 ?)

(p.s. the plant is not anticipating AT LEAST 12 hours of light as much as it is anticipating the darkness)

cool, thanks for the comments, i just put the light on the 10 hrs dark. And their was no way around this 10/10 cycle, by the time(today) i hade relized i hade to reorganized my light schedule i only hade this 10/10 option, and i have other crops on a 12/12 in same room and i was moving some more girls in, so it was either change the lgiht cycle for 2 girls, or 25., so i did the 2 girls on a 10/10. so u guys can see my delima. But do you guys think they will be cool for tonight`s 10 hr dark cycle?? it is too late now, it`s already done but am a little but worried(of course) but does anyone know if this would cause any of my plants harm??

it could potentially create a problem. it is absolutely unnatural to incur only 10 hours of darkness once already into flowering. im not sure of the degree of consequence but i wouldn't imagine it too steep.

how could it creat a problem? it would only be one night cycle, and tommorow back to 12/12, i would think also that yea, the plant would sense it and react the the diffent light in some kinda way, but would it really react to it to where i could tell a diffence? i was thinking that it could bounce back with no prob,

i only say potentially because you must consider the variables. it's possible however i have no clue to what extent. i wouldn't discourage you from trying though, it's a significant situation to learn from.

Just reset you timming and let the plants sit in darkness for a little longer than normal. Extra dark time in flower wont matter at all. I have flowered before using 10/14 the whole way through and it worked fine.

ok, i think i will work it out where i will just set my time 2 hrs later tommorow morning, that way the crops would only have got 10 hours light today, and 12 hrs dark tonight, and 1 more 10 hr light cycle tommorow and then that`ll be it with the abnormal cycles. so you guys think a 10/12 would be cool??? coulden`t be worse then a 10/10 right?

what about the other 4 hours?
you mean 2? i am lost
i have to just do this abnormal cycle one time, for 1 day. i was just wondering if a 10 hr day/12 hr night cycle would be alright to do just 1 time. i have to do it like this because of other complications, too much to explain. Just basicially need to know if it would do any damage doing this 10/12 cycle 1 time. was going to do a 10/10 but arranged it to be a 10/12. as long as it is 12 hr night, from what i have heard it would be cool. just looking for some feedback on this

Your right, do not sacrifice your dark hours as they are critical for the flowering phase. No less than 12 hours of dark! As little light hours as needed but again do not do any less dark.

I'm confused...how do you propose to do any of this with a 24hr day? you cant have 10 hours of light and 10 hours of day...what about the other 4 hours? is there some happy medium between light and dark that i am unaware of?

to get 10/10 i was going to go from 10am to 8pm and 8pm to 6am for dark, get it? but that was yesterday what i acually wended up doing was a 10/12 schedule for now, see here is how i acually did/am doing the schedule now. 10/12/10--then back to normal 12/12. see yestersday i did it from 10am to 8pm(light) then 8pm to 8am(dark) then..8am to 6pm(light) then tommorow it will be back to regular 12/12...see what i am saying??
it is kind of complicated cycle, due to crops i already have in room that has been on a comstant, uninterupted 12/12, and i am bringing in more flowering crops that was somewhere else on a 12/12 at a diffent time of day then my other one`s, so i just kinda reorganized, the cycle for a minuite for then new one`s to get the 12/12 cycle at the same time of day then my other one`s, 6am-6pm(light). but i think i will jst finish out this last 10/12 cycle today, and be done with it.
and btw i know i could have done this better but it was a matter of minuites of before i even knew i was going to be putting new crops inw/ my other flowering one`s, and the cycle for then new one`s were almost done with the light cycle.
