1 plant per square foot 1 gallon pots

Growing in coco with 30 percent perlite. Any opinions if that layout is too sparse for plants that haven't been topped? They 10-12" tall. Normally I would top but Im scrogging some mother plants to fill the rest of the space in the flower room. The canopy is 5'x24' pots in 2'x8' flood tables set side by side so 3 pairs making the 24'. If I pinch now I feel I'm adding at least 10 days more veg time in the flower room and the scrog mom's are going to be pissed. I put a 3.5" mesh net hung very low over the 16'x4' area taken up by the 10-12 inchers thinking maybe I'll just fold em right under to encourage some laterals to fill it up a bit. Now I realize that it seems it's one or the other. I can't have both w out vegging longer than I want. Either leave em and grow single colas and HOPE things fill out enough to hit my mark
or
pinch em all and veg them to be the small bushes they should be and be guaranteed they fill the space out. Maybe remove a couple mom's from the scrog ( suck option) or be very selective and prune the rest out so they aren't overcrowded. I don't know anymore. It's late and I been stressing about it for awhile now. Yes I could have avoided aspects of my predicament but hindsight is ALWAYS 20/20 w me more than most
Sooooo I am interested to hear what others would do in my sitch. If ya feel like commenting. If not you won't break my heart ❤ thanks growers!
I'll post a pic from a couple days ago in a sec

That's a sweet setup. I'd like to have a never ending 4' row that loops like the Large Hadron Collider.

Anyway, since they're mothers I would just cut them back / thin them out a little while the other plants catch up.

Lol!!! So you'd tip prune all the smaller ones as opposed to single cola grow?
If I were planning a single cola grow I woulda started w twice as many cuttingsat LEAST 2 per sq foot IF NOT 4.
So the little ones you'd pinch them or tuck them or leave em alone?

Personally I would scrog them since they are already as tall as the net, but topping them would work too. I would just let them get bigger either way. It looks like you have plenty of vertical space, so no matter how you do it they'll be okay. If you had to flip them now as they are you would still get a decent yield I bet, but flipping them because of a patch of overgrown mothers seems like an unnecessary rush.

I'm going to scrog em as you suggested the net is the right size in the right place. I wasn't sure if it was considered improper to have a scrog that was so close to a sog lol! I put the net in thinking I better cover all bases and to hell with etiquette ✌
