@PJ, you know what he means- "american" names are typically english names OR northtern european names as america was founded by northern europeans. Yes, American is a melting pot but those names you threw out are not recognized as "american" names they're more so recognized as forgein names to their respective countries of origin. Just as many latin names are referred to as "spanish" names- this is because spain was the country who founded much of the 'new world' in what is now central and south america. Hence the term 'spanish names' granted much has changed since these lands were originally settled but the name sticks. So, with all that said, don't take it so personally and try not to take it out of context- it is what it is!

The point is the "typical" american names aren't typical anymore -- at least not where I live. It's straight up racist to assume that just because someone has a name from latino dissent, that they are "not american" or somehow illegal aliens. Also just so you know, there's alot more illegal employment going on in this country between american citizens than there is between citizens and illegal aliens.
