1 gallon bucket

Am thinking of doing a 5 or 10 plant automatic flowering hydro grow but am doing this ghetto status and am wondering if a 1 gallon bucket will work per plant? Without having any root problem or anything Its gonna be real simple just air pumps and airstones and buckets.

Would a 7.8L per second air pump with dual outlets for 2 air stones be good enough for every 2 3 gallon buckets?

umm i myself have never used a hydro system are they simple to do
well i mean are they easy as a reg plant is to do
It can be with some research. my first ever grow i am currently doing is with soil and as i started reading about hydroponic to me it seems alot easier. it all depends on you which you prefer. Just know that with hydroponic thiers alot of measuring and water regualtion involved but its fairly easy.

Sure, check out those air stone disks, those work the best right under a root system.
I bought a air pump (active air 2 outlet 7.8l/m) and the place i got them at gave me 2 bar air stones(6in). by the look of how the air stones work i see how the round disks work alot better.

Yea they do. There is a guy here that uses them and gets more per plant then anyone I have ever seen.
This next grow I bet he hits a gram per watt. Heres a pic from his journal,

Heres a link to the journal, LINK

I dont mind having my girls depend on me too much as long as they return the favor. If it increases growth and potency thats fine with me...

Hey i grow dwc hydro. dont count on the foggers they cause excessive heat even when they are run on a timer. I once had a fogger get hot enough to melt the bottom of my rez. your better off just sticking with the pump and air stones. the ultra sonic fogger disks get all clogged up or break cause of some of the nutrients i use. just thought you should know from some one whos already tried it.

Oh no i wasnt planning on puttint them directly inside my bucket. i was planning on creating a reservoir with a fan in the inside to push the fog through small hoses into my buckets. Would this work?

yes that would work. the external use of a fogger would be benaficial if run on a 5 min on 20 min off timer. I beleive nasas aeroponic divission usses something lik 7min on 21 min off. Just try to resist the temptation to buy one of the cheaper foggers that have leds. i found that the flashing lights cause algae real fast. exotera makes a good reliable ceramic coated disk fogger that you can pick up at most pet stores for thirty bucks. good luck with that grow and keep up the good work.

oh yeah almost forgot. remember if your pumping fog in its comsuming benaficial air that the roots need that 1 to 2 inch breathing area between the net cup and water line .if you leave the fogger on for to long you could smother the roots or get a nasty case of root rot.. i found the 5 min mark was the safe zone and 20 min off was enough time for them roots to get some fresh air. so play with the timing and see what works for you . hope this has been help full.

I got six designer waste containers from the dollar store for about $2.50 each. These are 3 gallon containers and would be perfect for what you need. Large size styrofoam picnic plates are perfect size to use for lids. There's no holes in them, so you would have to drill your own holes where you need them. Also, for a few dollars more, the dollar store has plastic colanders that are perfectly sized and perfectly shaped for baskets. I think those were $1.50 each.
