1 basic question about Drip systems

Been running drip for about 4 months now and always one end fo the run gets more water than the other. So i switch waterings from 1 end to the other each time but it blows.

Whats the secret to even watering with a drip system WITHOUT usin manifolds? Currently im just running 1/4" off of 3/4" line. Its working OK but I know it can be better.

Steer me in the right direction?

Make a loop.

Use a barbed T connector to make a loop with the 3/4" line and run the 1/4" off of that. THis will even out the pressure.

LV I love the idea of drip, which is watering from the top down through, so that roots develop in the topsoil (~ 6"), but it has high probability of clogging. To compensate I use Halo Drip Rings, but when using a 300 gph pump it becomes a spray. Pump is on a timer

Drop in for details, but so far my twist on using them is fantastic

Cool man. I really can't use the drip rings because i run real small plants and they are all in #2 coco in fabric pots. i currently just run 1/4" into it staked down but really don't like the stake situation

Time to move up to larger grow pots. Roots, and therefore plants do better in larger pots. I love the Air Pots + Hydro Halo Rings

Her is one in action

Are u using chokers? If you are using them, this shouldn't be a problem. Just have to check to make sure they aren't getting clogged. I use to run an automatic drip system for about 5 years and the only issue I ever had was clogging.. Also, depending on how big your buckets are, you may want to run 2 lines per bucket. If I was doing a SOG and running 1-2 gallon buckets, I would only run one per, if I was running 3 or 5 gallon buckets, I would use 2 per bucket. Chokers come in different flows.. 1/2 gph, 1 gph, etc. Make sure you are using the same ones through out..

chokers? u mean drip emitters? no. we just use the 1/4" directly into the pot. 90 second watering about every 2 days. 6l pots.

+1 on the loop. instead of having the 3/4 attached to the pump at one end, and capped at the other. you use a barbed t fitting to make a loop in the 3/4, then run the 1/4 off the loop. also, i think it helps if all the 1/4 lines are the same length.

Use them. You can get a true "drip" going. I haven't run that system in a good 4-5 years but I think with the 1/2 gph size, I would run them for around 10 minutes.. Basically, I would time the feed until I got run off and that is what I would set my timer too.. Can't remember the actual time it ran but it was around 10 minutes with 1/2 gph size running to 66-120 plants, one line per plant at the smaller size buckets...
