1.5 gal air pots

I have 1.5 gal air pots ill be growing out of already bought and i need to know about how tall/big my plants will get before i need to transplant. More specifically for anybody confused, how much growth can i get out of them before the roots in the pot will need more space. The dimensions of the pots are 8.5'' high, 8'' in diameter. any comments from people who've worked with 1.5 gal air pots will be great.

In any type of fabric or hard plastic air prune pot you can go much longer then with a traditional pot.

Not the best pots for transplants. Roots can be damaged.

My suggestion to you is smaller square pots for your first two and a large "air" pot for your final.

I stick my 2g smart pots into a bigger 7g smart pot and just add more dirt @ about 2ft tall. No need to transplant...the roots will grow right through the smaller pot and into the larger one just fine. Been doing it for years and its the best and easiest way to up the pot size.

so how much growth do you usually get before you do that out of the 2 gal

i go like this..Clone goes into the cloner for a few days then into dixie cups for about a week. they r anywhere from 3-6 inches going fron the cups into the 2gallon smart pots..vegg for 4 weeks and then drop them into the bigger pot ...air pot and all a few days before i move them to the flower room. the size of the plant going into the 7gallon varies alot because i usually do 3-4 strains at a time. on average i would say 2-3 feet tall and about the same wide before i drop them in the 7g. some are smaller and some are bigger. it dont really matter the size..the 2gallon air pots or smartpots can handle a good sized plant just fine BEFORE u switch it to flower. once u start flowering, the roots explode so re-pot before ya flower!

on a side note...i would never ever ever ever use anything but a smartpot or air pot. i cant even remember the last time i used a 5gal bucket. ive done side by sides with buckets vs smartpots quite a few times on different strains using the same nutes and soil and the smart pots blew the bucket out the roof EVERY time. not most of the time, not some of the time...EVERY time. smartpots yielded around 5-6 oz's and 5gallon bucket was luck to get a 4 z's. for me, thats a huge difference. 12 ladies @ 2oz's less = 24 z's is about what my average loss would be using buckets instead of smartpots.
