As you can see, one got a burn going too close to the lights, i'm often away for three nights or so and the stretch on the 8-balls surprised me. Got a lot of heads and a reasonably even canopy, so i'm not put out :)

I used them on my first few grows several years ago before a long break. I had loverly plants and was very happy with my results but never used the same light without one so can't really compare. However, my lights were a lot closer than a friend with a similar grow, who was also very pleased...

i had to help dismantle an op in a (big) hurry and got a bin bag of stuff that was only half way through flowering and it absolutely slaughtered me - very bright and heady, much better than expected. Smoked a lot of the leaves too, tres mellow.

Nowt wrong with smoking trim as far as i'm concerned, smoke 'em if you got 'em and all that. It can be a pleasantly mellow, sometimes actually pretty tasty tide-me-over solution. Is your overall plan to keep ze box topped up with autos and try to keep it as full as possible as you progress?

I was able to get a 400w v close years ago with a heat shield/spreader device under the bulb, but turns out it was a 250w in a cool tube hood, experiments begin tomorrow to see how it fits in and if it misbehaves or not :up: options are good!

Good to see that flowers have started for you - maybe you've found the knack/identified the issue that will means you can start do what you need with your set up, and then onwards and upwards. I think that cheapo chinese lights are a workable option too - mine are certainly going well enough...

This morning the discolouration had grown a bit.. so i dosed with epsom, and when i took them out of the room to ditch the run-off it was the first time i'd seen them in natural light for a few days (the photos were taken in the dark), the leaf discolouration/mag deficiency didn't look as...

So if it is Mg deficient here are my thoughts/concerns - bottle's stated dose (shogun cal-mag) is 1 ml /litre on hand feed like i'm doing, and i've been on 1.5ml a litre, cos coco (or so i read etc) - am i right that cal can lock out mg? if so, should i dose with epsom instead to prevent lock...
