Ya, I wish LEDs were a bit further along. The 3w based ones are the only ones you can effectively flower with. I've got a little 45w panel with 1/2w LEDs. It is currently vegging 6 plants in a NFT system. I still use some supplemental floro. I originally used it in an aero modified Phototron and...

I always thought it would be cool to do a radiant heat dispersal with a co2 generator & light cooler. You could coil a bunch of tubing and dig a whole and burry it. Use the ground temp to cool the water. Free A/C!

The 400s reflectors are: hydrofarm lumenmax about 18" x 24" SunSystems cool sun 20 x 24 so the two together are about the same as the magnum, no where near as advanced design. No prob with air leaks, totally happy, worth the $$

I agree, a different story. 600s are actually more efficient than a 1000 lumens/watt. The FogBox system is insane. They featured my grow in the video. It's the one with the 4 XL units in early flower.

    SoG Grow Room Discussion

I've read the bible & know what everybody says, but in my experience, 2 x 400 isn't even close to a 1000w. 400s typically put out about 40k lumens, 1000w do 140k lumens. I know spread makes a difference, but I am running a 1000w Hortilux Super Blue in a Magnum XXXL. It spreads better than my 2 x...

newbie that needs help from the pros and questions

Home Depot now has 68w self ballasted (they just screw into a regular light bulb) 2700k CFL bulbs for about $20. They would do well for your flowering. Get 2 of those, put them on a Y spliter and you have 10,000 lumens. They also just got T5s there. $30 for a 2 bulb 2'. Bang for your buck, get...

Experienced 400W growers, Bulb performance discussion !

BTW, I use 670w of T8 floros to veg a 6x8 room, thats all you need. Again, balanced, 70% 6500k, 30% 2700k. It looks like a tanning bed! Save the big boys for flowering.

Experienced 400W growers, Bulb performance discussion !

The difference in the bulbs is obvious. Most of the higher end bulbs are more of a balanced spectrum, focusing on the blues & reds. Spectrum does matter, try an LED for fun, expensive as shit, but proves a point. You can get it done with a lot less watts/lumens if the light is in the right...

has anyone tried this for curing

The silica gel packs work. It's not like a insta-cure or anything, it may shorten the time by a few days. Non-toxic & doesn't seem to effect the flavor

    Hydro Help!

Sounds a little complicated. Most drip systems I've worked with had a standard watering schedule (i.e. once an hour for 2 minutes, twice an hour for 1 min, somewhere around there. You shouldn't have to alter it with your light schedule

    Hydro Help!

Air pumps on all the time. Water should come on in a drip system 2-5 times a day, you need to see how long it takes for the to almost dry up. What kind of containers are you using? Net pots? Rockwool? I have a drip system extention on my aero system, it run it 1 min on, 5 min off constantly. NOT...

    What Ever Happened to Fogponics

That was my grow in the video. I have run with straight fog. They survive, just don't flourish like they do with the aero to back it up. It seems to help stir up the fog. All pumps & foggers are on a cycle timer running 1 on 5 off. You are right about removing the fogger & still having a good...

    What Ever Happened to Fogponics

It works great as a supplement. You need to run them on a cycle timer so they don't overheat. 1 on 5 off. I have proof: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gvqlj62OolE

I've used Supernatural, Canna & House & Garden all with good results. I have used Liquid Karma, Cal-Mag, Flouralishious, Nirvana, Super Nova & Thrive Alive with good results. The only product I've used that caused problems was the GH Sub Culture. They clogged up things like no tomorrow. I...
