depends on the wattage, 5 250w cfls might just about manage, but im asuming that only a small part of the room will be used for veg, up to about a quater of your space could probably be lit by 2 250 w cfl or 3 1 50 w cfl

i think i was trying to make a point that if you had used equal watts of fluro blubs i think they would have performed on a equaly basis if not better then the HPS bulb. not to sure tho

or you could do a fair test and use 600w of fluro as well, and no they noyou wouldnt need endless plugs, becayse you could just use 3 200w enviro lights

although interesting this post isnt actually very useful, had you used the same amount of CFL Fluoro and HPS (ie 400w of each)it would have been a better comparision of the +/- of each system
