Whats the difference between an electronic ballast and a regular ballast? Not sure if I should go with the 400watt switchable (mh/hps in one)ballast or a 400 watt electronic hps ballast for flowering and CFL's for veg. Because i dont think they make 400 watt switchable electronic ballast's...

what i meant was, are the switchable systems any good or should i use cfls for veg and buy just a hps light system for flowering.

I was planning on getting a 400 watt mh/hps switchable system, mh for veg and hps for flowering. Are they any good? Are there any negative things about them? Are they worth it or not? Thanks
