Are fan leaves responsible for overall plant

Yellow and crispy at the top usually means heat burn. Some cases it has to do with the transport system of the plant, starting at the roots, that's not able to process nutes up the stem and into the smaller leaves. If it's not either of these then I'd say your plant just can't metabolize...

Are fan leaves responsible for overall plant

Fan leaves are the main factories for the plant. They make and store energy for the plants and metabolize sugar and certain nutrients. I tell everyone that asks the question to not touch the leaves unless the leaf is dead or near dead. That's the plant telling you that this particular leaf is...

Interesting (or weird) Thought/Question on PH

Anything possessing organic, mineral, rock, and clay particles is technically soil. Even though you are doing no more than 50% soil, you're still considered to be in a soil environment. That said, 6.2-6.3 is ideal in that setting. Only time the pH is supposed to be 5.8 is when you are in a...

    Help help help temperature please

45 degrees will stop phosphorus and other nutrients from metabolizing. If the leaves and bud start turning purple, that's your sign. Some strains can stand that cold but not most. Perfection is keeping the temps the same with lights on or off.

Advanced Nutrients is begging for money

This letter was sent from Big Mike to hydro stores AN does business with. He is now sole owner of the company, can't get a loan, and now wants hydro stores to loan him money with a ridiculous rate of return for the loan that he can never guarantee against bankruptcy, if that were to happen. I've...

Wet leaf can someone please advise.

It's completely normal and nothing at all to worry about. It's the human equivalent to sweating when the plant takes in more water than it needed (so it's even more common in hydro) or the humidity is a bit high at the time. If the humidity is around 70% or more, then the plant just gave you a...

Plant problem (with pics) anyone know what this is?

Only do all of this if they are coming out of the soil. I don't want you to waste your money. Top dressings are fine if they can leach into the soil well so hopefully you are pouring straight water into the soil and adding the nutes once a week, twice at most.

Fox Farm Bloom Nutrients - Big Bloom and Tiger Bloom

The thing with FF is it was developed for home veggie gardeners. Other lines like Advanced or House and Garden are specific to what you're doing. I'm not a rep but I've seen some really good results from Rock Nutrients. It's very basic...one bottle for veg, one for bloom. And one for a densifier...

    Different color stems

Right now, I wouldn't worry about anything. They are too young and still trying to get roots established to soak up nutes for you to really tell why one has a purple stem and the other doesn't. Cal/Mag is usually all that's needed to combat purple stems but it all depends on strain. Since you're...

Fox Farm Bloom Nutrients - Big Bloom and Tiger Bloom

You must have the hydroponic version of Grow Big. For whatever reason they soil version is much higher in N. The Grow Big has a lot of potassium, which the plant needs. You can mix them together in water without a problem. I have to be honest, I'm not real wild about Fox Farm with weed plants.

Fox Farm Bloom Nutrients - Big Bloom and Tiger Bloom

You use both at the same time. One actually is different than the other. I hardly ever use full strength nutes at any time so half it for a bit and build up from there. Big Bloom is just liquid earthworm castings and bat guano and are easily digested by good roots so burning the plants is tough...

Plant problem (with pics) anyone know what this is?

it's very hard to tell root health in soil. Even if they look white at the bottom holes, they're can still be problems. What happens is the bugs feast on the root tissue and the organics in the soil causing pH fluctuations, nutrient lockout, and stress leading to the plant deficiencies even if...

Germinated Seed Dried Issues// High CBD strains?

Yeah, I'd give her a rest, about 4 hours each day for a bit. Be very careful when transplanting from soil to hydro. Be gentle with the roots when running them under water to get all the dirt off. The plant will go into shock even if you do a good job so hit it with a light dose of foliar spray...

Plant problem (with pics) anyone know what this is?

Scrape your fingers through the soil, do bugs start coming out? If so, that's part of the problem. Stop putting anything in the soil. You have severe nute lockout more than likely. Pour 3 times the pot size in water through it and flush the crap out of it. Miracle Grow is the worst possible soil...

    Did I mess up topping?

I think you're fine, bro. The only think I see you'll have to contend with is low branches that won't produce much so just trim them when they start to appear. Other than that, you're cool.

Germinated Seed Dried Issues// High CBD strains?

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but the point at which the seed opens up to bring out the taproot is a very crucial point and can never be left to dry. Unfortunately, if it's been a day and no progress, I doubt it can be saved. I can't answer the 2nd question but I can the 3rd...

I followed your advice, looked great yesterday, but today looks burned?

Using Clonex on seeds is unnecessary and can cause more problems than it's worth. Clonex should only be used on clones. Seeds come with enough nutrients built in to start themselves> All they need is a moist environment. Since you use soil, get yourself some seed starting plugs made out of peat...

    light problem

No bulb comes with the ability to switch off for any reason by itself. If both times you plugged it into the same socket, then it's the socket or the amp box/breaker that's turning it off. Try a socket somewhere else in the house..or you have two ballasts that have auto-shutoff problems, but...

How do you flush with sledgehammer in hydro

If the pH is constantly going high, like into the 6.7-7.0 range after only a day or two, then you probably have a bad bacterial issue. Even in the 6.2-6.3 range that quickly it usually means something is brewing you don't want around your roots. Clear containers can help spread algae and bad...

New here....found a new hydro place in Cincinnati

What's up guys? Decided to join to get some tidbits on growing I may not be aware of. Also just wanted to let those of you around the Cincinnati area know that a new hydro shop just opened in Blue Ash called The Bubbling Bucket. Stopped in there the other day and the two people that work there...
