So a 4" hole for passive air intake correct? Is it recommended that the intake be on the bottom, and the exhaust be at the top?

Would a 4" Vortex ( 174 cfm ) be overkill for a 4' x 2' x 2' grow chamber?

I've never heard of using anything besides the GH Bloom and Micro.

He's using Earth Juice Micronutes and Age Old Organics Grow nutes as well...can't say that I've ever heard of the Age Old. /shrug

It sounds like overwatering doesn't it? I asked him, he said the water level is a smidge below the cup. He also says the roots are approx 8-10 inches long. If heat isn't the issue, I'd expect a LOT more growth after over a month from seed. Says his PH at water change is 5.5, and climbs to 7 over...

Reason I ask, is my buddy has one plant growing from schwag bagseed. It's about 4 weeks old, and about 4 inches tall. The leaves are always cupping down, and he's already had to remove the bottom first two true leave branches. From my studying, plants should be ready for flower cycle at about 5...

Say with a constant temp of 88 F...trying a DWC setup...the plant would still grow correct? Or what would happen? Meaning is lower 13 degrees really THAT big of a deal? Would it be pointless to even try and grow in those conditions?

His room temps are anywhere from 75-86. So I'm guessing the res temps are in that range as well. It's summer, and he doesn't have AC. Luckily, he's just using some bag seed just to see how it all works...kinda like a test run I guess. Once the fall comes, he said he plans on using primo seed.

Is it safe to assume hydroponic systems are like salt water fish tanks? The smaller the tank, the harder it is to keep levels in their optimum ranges...and the more work they require to keep them in those ranges?

It's not that it's resonating off a table or something that is loud, it's the actual operation of one of those things. Plug it in, and it buzzes so loud! Even in your hand. LOL
