Rice does work but you need A LOT of it. Have you tried useing dishwasher salt? That works well. You can also use table salt. If you dont like the idea of any of them you can buy moisture boxes for £0.99 or buy some of this stuff...

Theres no real answer to your question mate. Theres a lot of things to take in to account. Soil, Hydro, Nutes, Strain and the list goes on. Me personally, I would put 2-4 plants under a 400w

You could do it buy you would lose light. Instead of the wire you could use mylar? Where about you from? It getting a bit cold outside adn it wont be long till the winters hear you will probably need to think about heating your grow hut.
