    noob advice need help

Is it the bottom round leaves or the first set that looks like pot leafs? My round leaves browned and are about to fall off but I'm not concerned because the rest of the plant looks very healthy and bright green. So take a look at the rest of your plant, you tell me. Is it a problem?

    transplant or to risky??

If you transplant, be careful removing the root ball from your planter and then take a sharp knife and slip it into the root ball at the top about a half an inch deep and sweep it down through any roots that are tangled. This will help free up your roots and incur a bit of growth, which...

    Acquired neglected plants, what do??

If you can tell sex then they've already gone to flower. You're going to have to bring those plants to veg to get them healthy so expect to wait a long time before you see growth. Another thing to keep in mind, when you're ready to put your plants in flower make sure that the time your lights...

    Acquired neglected plants, what do??

Even healthy plants need time to rest. Give the plants 6 hours of sleep every day and you'll see them get healthy faster. What the other person said is yes, stop watering every day. What "light to pick up" means is that you should pick up your pots after you've watered them and get used to...

    Outdoor growing - UK

Hey man one last bit of advice, I just checked out Barry Cooper's Never Get Busted video series. While a lot of the legal insight is specific to the US, the second volume has a nice little section on how to keep your outdoor grow safe and secret. If you're really interested in growing safely I...

    Using Orchid bark for mulch

Hey thanks to both of you for the tips. I took the orchid bark out of the bottom of my pot and most of it out of my soil. After a 24 hour soak my test material was pretty water logged, though it did let most of the water drain through. I thought better to avoid having the rotting bark...

a letter from the state of michican that said....

It might help if you told people what it is you're talking about. Also, where is michican? I know there's a Michigan in the US.

    White flies

Sticky strips don't use chemicals, at least here stateside. They use a really tacky resin and a natural oil that attracts flies. It's only as effective as the proximity to flies, which means having it close to your plants. The caveat, the fucking resin is next to impossible to get off your fingers.

    getting seeds

You don't have to sign for seeds, that is just retarded (back off Palin). Have them sent to a friend's house, tell them it's a surprise gift for your mom and you don't want her to find out. You're also a lot safer not sending seeds to your grow site. Disassociation is your friend.

    Using Orchid bark for mulch

Our Home Depot's have squat in the way of gardening supplies. If I can't find a replacement for the lime maybe I'll put some of this stuff in a soak and use the water instead of the pellets themselves. I also put some of the Orchid bark into a glass jar, sitting in water to see what the...

    Using Orchid bark for mulch

It does seem like a soft material, I figured the gaps in between would let excess water drip through, but of course you make perfect sense. The lime I got is Organic Traditions Garden Lime, it doesn't state having any clay content but that's no guarantee. Using a small pot (maybe 2...

    Outdoor growing - UK

But... if there have been pot busts in your area why would you think growing weed outdoors is a better solution? Sounds like you'd be bringing yourself right out to the cops. You want to mix your own soil, you'll need a large crop to get anything out of it and being a first time grower you're...

    Outdoor growing - UK

My indoor grow has cost me about $200, and since then I've found ways to do it even cheaper. Don't let price be a concern. As far as detection is concerned, the smell of one small plant is easy to mask. Keep it out of everyone's way and keep your gullet sealed and you should never have a...

    Outdoor growing - UK

I doubt you'll get any yield worth your trouble. In a soggy climate your plants will be susceptible to rot, flooding, outdoor creatures, et al. It's just too much trouble. Never mind how conspicuous you'll be carrying sacks of soil into the wild/ stressing over your dying plants by visiting them...

    male or female

I don't know if you're guaranteed fem seeds just because you have a fem plant. If you want to guarantee females on your next batch the best thing you can do is take a clone or two from your healthiest girls. I think you need hermaphrodites to get fem seeds. And even then, keep in mind that...

    male or female

Just keep in mind, it's not the shape or configuration of the hairs that matter. It's whether or not the hairs are coming from inside that little bulb. In a female plant they serve to collect pollen and draw it into the bud in order to create seeds. But you don't want that (unless you're going...

Not all plants will look the same, some males are misleading but this is a good reference photo for what you're looking for.

    male or female

You need to take a more direct photo of the nodes. From what I understand it, if little white "tongues" are coming out of the "balls" like a girl sticking her tongue out, you have a female. Males can look very similar, but the little tongue will be outside of the "ball".
