I don't know much about auto-flower, I've never grown them. I would say this system works excellent with indica or indica dominant strains. I wouldn't try a sativa in this system, I'm not saying you couldn't grow sativa in this system, for me that's just not practical.

I agree, the "sniff test" works good. If it smells bad something is wrong. A few times I had foam around the edge of the res, 1 time it smelled so I did a res change. The other times I seen foam it didn't smell so I let it be and it cleared up in a day.
