250w with a glass hood you can get up to 18-12 inches away depending on how much light your plants can handle. and i wouldnt worry about yielding more if you've only flowered with cfls before. before i moved to cali i would pull a qp minimum (depending on the strain) from 6 sqaure feet with a...
