Leave the door unzipped at the bottom if no vents. I run my tents this way even with vents...but my lung room is fairly dark so not much light bleeding in at lights off. With autos it wouldn't matter and I haven't had a problem with photos either.

With coco you need to fertigate daily(at least)...that's food and water. Since coco is inert you have to supply everything. It's almost impossible to overwater...that's the big difference in how they're treated. Coco will out preform soil with all other things equal....in growth rate and yield.

Diatomaceous earth, sand, and lots of other things on the top of the soil will help control or eliminate them. Do a search for knats here for a few threads on controlling them. Good luck!

I try to keep it to a minimum with autos but modern genetics along with hydro or coco can make for some huge plants that will absolutely require some defoliation. As long as the plants healthy it's fine to defoliate.....just don't go crazy. I like to take a few leaves/day to keep stress to a...

I was referring to the wicks getting clogged but I guess stuck valves and stuff are where the other complaints come from with organics in hydro. Also there are problems with sediment build up or just stuff dropping out of solution with organics. As I said it can be made to work but you are open...

I should have said it's "easier" to get atypical growth with autos in hydro. I've found my best yield with autos comes by not topping and instead using some lst or just tucking a leaf or 2.

Organics not so well....they tend to clog. Not saying it can't be done but it adds another layer of possible issues. I use salts with good results with wicks.

Are you planning to feed through them...or just water? If water only it's easy...just set them on the bases after first set of true leaves and watch them grow. Feeding through them works great but can get tricky with buildup like @conor c said.

You can elevate the autos closer to the light after flip to keep their dli up with minimal loss in yield.

I recently harvested 3lbs from a 4x4 with 4 autos in hydro(Aircube system) I've found that if they're grown in hydro there will be no need to top. They'll shoot multiple colas all by themselves with just a little lst.

I run wick bases with soil grows. Mine are the AC infin with no rez. I allow roots to grow into the bases for better yield. I feed through mine using same solution as my hydro grows...which is Jacks 321. I also put airstones in m y bases to add oxygenation...careful though it can cause ph issues.
