What type of system? I Run RDWC and dont have the problem you describe. what nutes are you using as most have buffers to help with ph. i Dont use RO though as my tap water is only 35ppm and never had any issues with it.

It will work fine it i have used them many times before and checked its against a digital meter and it does not have an effect on it.

Cooler temps can have an effect on colour but imo your best just keeping your temps in the correct range, extreme temps will stress your plants and for a bit of colour its not worth it. Happy Growing!!
