@andymex was a tremendous help with this, and put this parts list together for a $1,000 budget. I think in the end I was probably around $1,200, with all the hardware.

Hey everyone, checking back in. I took a break from growing to work on a few other projects. I built a pretty massive (and costly) led light(s), but never got a chance to finish a grow under them.
My new setup is pretty damn cool! The lights have a 5x5 footprint, which I wanted to make up...
Thanks :)
It raises the humidity a little, but nothing out of control. I use a little tabletop dehumidifier during flower, and it keeps the rh around 50%.
BTW, when I said that your plants will perspire to counter heat and/or dryness, I meant it as why your plants might be taking in a lot of water, if you hadn't gotten that. It'll make your grow space really humid. You want to try for 50% or higher RH during veg, and somewhere around 35% for...
Think of nutrients as vitamins. You take a vitamin each day to help you maintain your health. But taking two or three has no effect on how healthy you feel. You might even get ill from taking too many. Same with plants. More is not better.
1100ppm is too high for hydro. Your roots can end up with nutrient lockout. I usually don't go above 700 in my RDWC using MaxiBloom.
Your plants will definitely drink more water in flower, but if your environment is really warm, or too dry, the plants will perspire to counter this.
If you're growing different strains, they could very well have different harvest times. In that case, just cut down the ready ones, and grow out the rest. If they're the same strain, it'll all average out in the end. I'd cut both down.
They're ready. Not all of the pistols will be orange. Also, leaves will normally look like shit at the end of the grow. The plants drain all the stored energy from them, and they die.
Better lights cost more, no getting around that. If you went HPS as an alternative, you'd have to invest in an exhaust fan, and ducting. Your power bill will increase (mine went up almost $100/month when I was running my 1000w hps.)
Nope, no dumb questions here, but sometimes you'll run across some dumb answers LOL!
There will be directions on the side of the bottles. It'll show you a feed chart, which shows you the amount to add/gallon of water, and how much at each stage of the plant's life. Start a little light to see...
You'll also have to get nutrients/fertilizer for when the soil runs out (a couple weeks). General Hydroponics Floro Trio is really good. You can get it from lots of online places or local hydro shop.
When you measure the EC, you are getting a measurement of all the nutrients mixed together, like magnesium, nitrogen, potassium, etc...simply, weed doesn't like MG's mix. Way too strong in some areas, and not enough in others.
