Thanks, I have run calmag since early but at a slightly reduced level to norm so I might bump that up a bit. pH is a steady 5.9 so I'm happy there. Last couple of strains I've had were low feeders and right now my nutrient base was added at 800ppm which could be a tad low. Will see how it goes...

After a 2nd opinion. I usually add Epsom salts (magnesium sulfate) to my res but forgot during this growth. Added now will see. Its a sterile hydro (1000ppm) 2months in under LED 5.8pH and everything else is running well.

Was it touching the soil? Have you recently put it under new lights? Is this the first set of fan leaves? Are there any signs of this on other leaves? Have you looked for bugs? Don't spray them unless you're sure the problem is bugs. I often get rid of my lowest leaves at around the 4 week mark...

Any break in surface tension will oxygenate the water so yeah it will work... You might find the splashes and large bubbles a bit aggressive on young root development and perhaps the turbulence will break some new root hairs off which will settle in your system eddy's and break down, meaning...

This might be your downfall mate, root aphids are harder to control... If it was me I'd attempt to drown them by dropping the pot into a bucket of water for half an hour or so... Your plant won't die but they might... I've never had the root aphids, only leaf ones...

Use chemicals if you must but aphids aren't such a big deal. Go around and rub each leaf, defoliate and then blast with the hose and you'll knock them back without any toxins. Or, water and dish soap to kill them then rinse with hose to remove residual soap.
