DIY Hydroponic Nutrients in 5 minutes

ill post my peters recipe when i can find something simpler- right now mine is contingent on CaliMagic randomly, and like.. too many things. Ill make a simplified ideal one that doesnt include me trying to drain my supply shelf lol

Hmm, taking another look I think you could maybe just do this and regular CalMag with RO. It really does seem a little high on the K to me, but honestly with regular rez changes it shouldn't mean anything. N/K are super available, the ratios just might vary over time. The N ppm is also a little...

DIY Hydroponic Nutrients in 5 minutes

this shit looks awesome, going to have to give it a bigger look tonight. Hmm, looks good but it's a little hot on the N with no ammonium (im aiming for 3/4 or 4/4 N/K). Ammonium nitrate is dirt cheap an easy to get ahold of, but will of course jack up N levels even higher (at 1g/gal it'll add...

Software engineer grows (DWC) weed pt 2 w/ timelapse!

Alright, getting near the last of my updates on this grow. I had to pull 2 colas because they were getting fried by the light, got em wet trimmed so we'll see how it is. This is from one of my phenos that I had a pretty hard time with growing, plus the trichome count seems shit. The entire buds...

Yeah, it's best to use as many iron chelates as possible. If you get all 3 (EDDHA, EDTA, DTPA) Fe is available at almost all pH. Plus the chelators have secondary effects with other metal cations. Which base are you using? I would absolutely love a pure-ish micro mix.

    Hydroton alternatives dwc

I use 3.5" pots, all my plants but one have tipped so far lol. I guess I don't care much so far. As long as it's not pinching or cutting into things. It did flood my fucking tent yesterday tho, knocked irrigation loose. Fun to deal with in the freezing

    Hydroton alternatives dwc

Yeah the rockwool 'croutons' (i like that) sounds like a good way to go too. This current grow is mostly rockwool in my 3.5" cups, then just some hydroton at the top mostly to block light. Oh man, that's an ominous sign as far as the letter from big mobile. Yea, all this shits slowly killing...

    Hydroton alternatives dwc

Sweet! So stacking collars does work. I really think I might try that and pellets next time, I feel much better about that. Agreed that everything will kill us eventually, but one of the great things about hydro is getting to put exactly what you want in the solution- If i can get the rocks and...

    First dwc

Hmm, yea looks like calmag isn't making it to the plant. If you are using RO, definitely use the full dose of calmag. Not sure what amount AN has in it (if any), I know most nute lineups provide various amounts so it makes it even more of a moving target to figure out how much calmag you really...

http://www.babygreenthumb.com/p-122-safe-plastic-numbers-guide.aspx Here we go, safe plastics. Maybe next grow ill just to Polypropylene. Looks like you can get Polypropylene pellets online pretty easy, just need to find the larger grain.

Most metals have a much higher rate of blood dosing when smoked vs eaten. (does depend on the form, and the metal, I know aluminum and sodium are things that are worse when smoked). Just use lots of rockwool. Get rockwool plugs, rockwool cubes, soak some rockwool in water and tear it down to...

Under-shelf lighting, aka The Fire Hazard™

Kratky clone likes it so far (dont worry the aluminum foil isnt touching the solution, clear plastic over it)

Just thought it was valuable to talk about everything but seedlings for some reason ;) looks good!

Under-shelf lighting, aka The Fire Hazard™

Just uses a 12V wall-wart power supply, maybe pulling 20W total (will have to get it on the kill-o-watt eventually). Pretty much only useful for seedlings/transplants, if even that. I've got like a stack of 12v power supplies (were like $5) I bought for a Burning Man project, plus the LED strip...

Doubt about starting seeds in rockwool

Only advantage I saw (with RW anyways), was that if it was upside down the germ would pop up with the seed casing already gone. It just slowly peeled it off as the seed was pulled upwards by the germ. Not sure if the casing being stuck there is good or not.. but its mostly just fiber so i cant...

need more feedback think I may have killed her

I think like most situations, if it has enough energy to heal before rot sets in, it will probably pull through. Clones are basically just stranded plant tissue kept moist lol they somehow recover... (with germs however, the clock is ticking fast on how soon they can start making their own food)

Under-shelf lighting, aka The Fire Hazard™

Was pretty happy with how this turned out in the end, gonna share it here even though its the jankiest jank possible. I bought a few meters of some LED grow-light under-lighting strips. The same stuff you're most likely to see for under-lighting at your local bar or whatnot, but with the 4:1...

Can you have too much light?

Hmmm, I only have $25000, might be a problem. We'll work it out in the PM tho, no need to clog up this thread any further

You drive a hard bargain, but I'm in.
