Oh ok I understand. Do I have to do any like electronics to 'dim' them? Like wire in a potentiometer? How do you control how much power the driver is supplying them?

    DIY with Quantum Boards

You said to me in an earlier post: "its hard to grasp at first but basically LEDs run more efficiently the cooler they are. So while you would be sending each board less watts, the amount of photons generated per watt increases. (for our purposes we actually measure in lumens per watt). " So...

    DIY with Quantum Boards

The choice was made based upon the driver that I have, which is rated for 180W on a 120V line (it's a European light originally and is specced for 240W at 220V). 180W driver is all that I have to work with. And I'm only really doing this cuz $105USD for those 4 boards, which can put out 70W...

2'x4' ... cutting aluminum seems like a skill I lack (at least the tool for sure) lol. I guess I will need to see them in front of me with dimensions first anyways.

That's not available in Canada, but this is: https://www.amazon.ca/OTTFF-Stainless-Hanging-Holders-Aquarium/dp/B07YC4598Q/ref=sr_1_14?dchild=1&keywords=Grow+Light+Rope+Hanger&qid=1606592438&refinements=p_85%3A5690392011&rnid=5690384011&rps=1&sr=8-14 Thanks. Now to find a way to mount them all...

    DIY with Quantum Boards

I got my soon to be American brother in law to order them for me. I doubt the Canadian vendor would have a deal as good as that 4 x QB120 v2 boards for $102 (after 20% discount), thats the only reason I'm going for them. What should i use to mount these with? The yoyo mounting stuff looks...

    DIY with Quantum Boards

My stoned brain just realized my sisters fiance is American, we're going to see if he can't help. I'm excited to try good LED boards if I can get this to work, my experience with this Telos-0008 light while not bad is *definitely* not worth its price (which was like $700, fortunately my friend...

    DIY with Quantum Boards

Yes, the picture I attached in that message is from HLG (in USA). I can't seem to find the same quantum boards on amazon.ca (they are probably on amazon.com but I would face the same shipping cost problems). Yeah I won't pay that lol, but the $180 total it comes to after that shipping (with...

Damn I'm blind, how did I not see that *doh* Anyways the Canadian site is pretty expensive, and not much selection I can see, here for quantum boards: https://www.horticulturelightinggroup.ca/collections/led-lamps/qb Oh well, I was excited for a minute there, but meh I guess.

Where did you get 48V for the drivers output though? I don't see that anywhere on the driver, just 180W, 3.75W(Input: 100-200V)? Also I really do appreciate your help, I don't mean to sound ungrateful or anything, I just want to understand what this stuff means before I go commit to a purchase...

Great deal on bricks of COCO $8.00

100% waste of time and more likely to do harm. Seems theres a lot of misinformation out there about coco, it is not like soil. If someone insists though I stand by my assertion that you should never run plain water through coco, that WILL lead to Cal/Mg deficiencies and is just a waste of time.

    DIY with Quantum Boards

Thank you, I think I know what I'm getting for Christmas now if it's just $132 for 4 boards. Can anyone else confirm for me his wiring, and perhaps expand on its meaning. 24V each, why parallel-series?

    DIY with Quantum Boards

They don't put out less light at less current? Sorry LEDs are so new to me that i went back to HID this grow lol, I just can't sell this Telos-0008 so if I can use it's driver with some quantum boards and if I can figure out the what seems fairly basic electronics I'd like to give LED another...

    DIY with Quantum Boards

Perhaps you can clarify something for me. Theres a specification for 240W and 180W. The 240W says its 5A(Input:200-240V) and the 180 says its 3.75A(Input 100-200V). Since I am using North American 120V does that mean that this driver can only run at 180W (input 100-200V)? and not at 240W...

Great deal on bricks of COCO $8.00

Yes it can, you wash through with low ppm nutrient solution with something like cannazyme or hydrozyme to break down rootmass (don't ever wash coco with plain water, it must have at least low ppm of nutrients).

Great deal on bricks of COCO $8.00

Wish this was in Canada, they want $30 shipping just for one, ouch. Oh well I have 2 or 3 bricks of canna coco left so like 100L of medium should do me for like a bit at least.

    DIY with Quantum Boards

I have the older version of this light: https://gn.uk/led-grow-lights/gn-telos-8 Would it be worth it to take the driver off and install it to new quantum boards? How much are just the boards? Would I kill myself via electrocution OR fire? It's not a bad light, but it is dated and I'm sure...
