I have actually tracked down a source. It's Chinese suppliers from Alibaba.com I am in contact with him right now, talking over shipment prices and availability of products.

"3. Output: 71-143V, 1400mA" Does this mean I have to get the CREE CXB3590 3500K CD at 72v? And can someone tell me what are CB, CD, DB, DD? I found out that it's "bin", but what does it mean?

When I decided on which driver to go with I contacted a supplier to ask for a price for a certain number of drivers. I got a reply asking me for clarification on the type of driver I want: "... As you requested for Meanwell HLG-185H-C1400, following is brief information: 1. Constant current...

    LED COB bar project

Guys, great job! Didn't get much, but I hope you resolved it ;) I am looking at the CXB3590s and I see CB, CD, BB, AD what is the difference. Also in the spreasheets the chips with different letters at the end have different results. Can someone tell me what they mean?

Well that just sucks ass! Why is that even something of a percentage if it doesn't mean that? I am confused again!

    LED COB bar project

I played around a bit... still not sure about the coverage of each one of the COB. But do you think this (below) would be a good way to place the 20 COBs in 32 sq ft area?

One more question. If I use 20xCXB3590 for a 32 ft² without lenses. At lets say 12" of the canopy how much coverage would on chip have? Or what if I use lenses? I am asking, because with this number of chips I'll need to rearrange them and maybe make a different design for them to able to cover...

Oh yeah! Thanks man I don't need 5000K. Maybe I'll just stick with the CXB3590.

    LED COB bar project

I did my calculations according to this post. First attachment is: Anyway I'd like to run my setup at 50% efficiency if possible so I don't get a lot of heat, and the whole thing would not consume a lot of electricity compared with the PAR W output.

    LED COB bar project

    From what I get from the spreadsheet I'll need around 480 PAR W for the 32 ft² I have. And I came up with two a around 50% efficient setups: 20 x [email protected] (49W) (51.67%) = 504.82 PAR W (15.77 PAR W/ft²) (977.01 Dissp W) 12 x [email protected] (80W) (50.97%) = 490.04 PAR W (15.31 PAR...

So it doesn't matter how many watts consumes the whole setup! The thing that matters is the PAR W//ft². From what I read I'll nee at least 15 PAR W//ft² for "3-5 feet tall including the bucket". For example if I run a 30 Dissipation W/ft² setup at 50% efficiency I will get 15 PAR W//ft² and the...

Great! I was wondering if there was something like this. Although, from the twelve columns in the spreadsheet I only get the first and the last one... I could start pondering on the abbreviations but I'll surely get lost. I am sorry to be such a newbe but I don't get much of those stuff. Can...

    LED COB bar project

OK! I have taken a look at some of the commercial lights out there. And I looks like they run the COBs at higher wattage. Not at a low one how I wanted, so... What if I drive for example one Vero 29 with one HLG-120H-42A. First is it possible or is it going to fry/blow up? If possible how...

IF you are new to LED and want help choosing what to buy, POST HERE!

In light of my own pondering on the ideas of buy or building, I made a few simple calculations concerning the Opticgrowlights, which look very appealing when the lazy part of me starts saying "Go for the buy, it'll be a lot less work!". Best case scenario I have 1300-1600W setup. Now I am...

IF you are new to LED and want help choosing what to buy, POST HERE!

I am exploring all my options. Still gathering info on everything. I know that. I was aiming for that kind of watts, even 1600, but I just wanted to ask if will be sufficient for a normal growth. Would I yield a lot less with the two 500 watt fixtures then with the 4 360W. If I start with the...

OK, if I decide to go for example for the above ( 4 V29s @ 1.4A), which will add up to 200 W per bar. How hot are we talking? What cooling do I have to get for them? What temperature could they reach, and at what temperature should I run them? How many fans would I need, how powerful? Or could I...

    LED COB bar project

Thanks a lot man! I needed something like this. It'll make it easier to make a choice for my needs and possibilities. So if I get it right - lower efficiency equals more heat, and bigger electric bill? Isn't t about the watt they run on, I mean the electricity used? What exactly is the...

Sorry, Positivity, I'm not sure I got the joke. I'm that much of a newbie;) Anyway the vero 18s are acceptable for a start I suppose, and for their cost of course. What else would I need? A driver for how many watts with the V18s, 100W? Then heatsink(s) and fans I haven't considered in my...
