Zucchini hardcore :). Super cool dude! What variety of zucchini are you using? There are some varieties more appropriated for indoors with auto pollination flowers, so no need for insects. I like your results, wouldn't mind to give it a try indoors.

For comparison purposes I'm using the Cree CXA3070 Z4 3000k, 166lm/w at 350mA.

I don't know enough about COBs, I shouldn't have made such statement. As top performer I assumed something like the 3070 but still "70%/80" is incorrect. After checking the 3070 datasheet, 10% would have been more accurate if we assume driving them at 350mA.

It gets harder to argument against COB when you bring the Vero line into play, that would be the Volkswagen in the LED world :). For my way of managing money/investing that would be more acceptable as the up front is significantly less and the efficiency only slightly lower than the top...

Let me put it this way. Two 27w CFL consume 54w and together emmit 3500 lumens. One 3070 consume half of that having the same output in lumens.
