First, what is rainwater? CONDENSATE. But it falls down from high above and catches all kind of things from the air, doesn't it? Then it hits the ground and meets more things there. Third, how do you figure it's polluted? Isn't it? Let me guess, you're growing in soil too, right? Wrong guess.

Can you explain your opinion? Why is it so hard to collect and store rainwater? Collecting rainwater could be as easy as placing a drum/barrel where water falls down from the roof, but there are better methods out there too. To store it, I would need to clean it up from bacteria, hence the RO...

You're basically saying that if it would stay good for months without an UV filter, then getting a cheap one would make it certain that it would stay good for months? Can I count on it? Now I'm considering storing water for the whole growing period (4-5 months).

I mean... if there's 1000 liters of water to maintain it's purity, then how many times per hour/day does it have to be filtered through UV filter?
