1000 watts in a veg area? That's a bit of over-kill. I veg more than 16 plants under T5 HO's that add up to about 300 watts without a problem. T5's work well up to about 24" before their lack of penetration starts showing....but that's when I would put them into flower anyway.

A plant decides what leaves it needs and doesn't need. It's common that a plant will discard older fan leaves, especially near the bottom. Don't jump through hoops attempting to get more light to the lower leaves, especially defoliating upper leaves as these leaves are valuable in bud growth...

I've done it......don't do it. You'll get very little for your efforts. I've put plants into 12/12 from the beginning, after a week of veg, after 2 weeks of veg, etc. etc. and if you don't veg your plants for at least 3 weeks you'll be disappointed in your yield.

As far as trichs go.......some like seeing a little amber, I prefer mostly cloudy with a little clear (there will always be clear).

Yeah.....you need some flash pics or under normal lights if you want an accurate estimate. I see pistils still standing straight up. They should be flat against the buds, orange in color before you should even consider chopping.

I had dismal luck with their autos. I think there's a ton of better choices out there other than RQS. Dinafem, Hazeman, Pyramid, and Kannabia are strong choices that should not disappoint.

I've been growing for about 2 years, and my first harvest of 2 plants was less than an ounce total. Considering that before growing pot I was known to kill silk flowers as I had a very black thumb. As you are learning, not all good information comes from a grow-shop. Depending on the person...

The bell-ringer in my grow room this year was Pyramid Seeds Tutankhamon. It won the Spanibus Cup with a tested 33% THC. I'm sure my grow didn't hit that number, but I can tell you that I've yet had anyone finish a whole joint (I've challenged many a seasoned smoker)......all were very stoned...

You'll love the Pineapple Express.....I'm on my 4-5th grow of it and it's my favorite plant to watch grow, and one of my favorites smoking. The smell of this plant is intoxicating. I'll be growing this for a long time.

I personally would go with an 6-8 bulb 2' T5HO with a good mix of bulbs for that space. I'm big into a mixed spectrum as I feel it creates dense buds.

No disrespect taken....yes, in a volcano different strains taste differently. I was referring to a hand-held PAX.

If you're up-canning from smaller pot to bigger one, you're good for awhile. I have used Happy Frog for the past two years and I don't introduce nutrients until about 4 weeks....and that's when I'm using a 3-5 gal container.

Let me make a suggestion to those of you loading up a ton of CFL's over a plant.....Invest in a T5HO....you're going to end up with one in the near future anyway as you're going to find out all the not-so-great things about CFL grows. Check out Craigslist for deals on lights.
