    Lil Roach has returned.

It's too hot and humid to sleep.....so I'll babble on here for a bit. As I said before, I've been growing for about 10 years. Like everyone here when they first started and came to a site like RIU, I suffered from informational overload. So many "experts" giving often contradictory advice. I...

    Lil Roach has returned.

Over 10 years ago I started my growing journey here on RIU. I posted in my journal for years before straying into a private grow site and was inactive here for a good length of time.....long enough to lose my journal. Well that site shut down. I was bummed as it was the second website I lost...

    Fabric Pots vs. Plastic Pots

I made the mistake of washing my fabric pots in the clothes washer. What a muddy mess it left. If you want to piss off the wife....give it a try.

    best exhaust options?

I ran a light-mover in a similar size space. While it only really moved a couple of feet, I feel it did much considering the massive number of plants that thrived in that space. One downside.....You bend over to feed or move a plant and then stand up and the light that wasn't there a minute...

Where the hell did my journal go?

While I haven't been very active on here lately, I did have years worth of my grow journal with photos that seems to have disappeared. Was there some sort of purging that I was not aware of?

In need of a seasoned vet to help me with growing questions.

I think it was eight years ago I was where you are now. I got brain cramps reading about so many different ways of growing, and often contradictory advice just to really fuck with my head. It's like everyone singing at the same time....only different songs....so nothing makes sense. I finally...

    Flower Room Rebuild-Lighting,Flooring, Cooling Qs

1975.......I lived in upstate NY and my buddy and I did a bunch of black beauties one night and we decided to go to Stuart Florida to pick up his guns and cutting torches he left down there before moving to NY. We ended up sleeping for almost 2 days once we got down there, and then decided to...

    Flower Room Rebuild-Lighting,Flooring, Cooling Qs

As far as sealed room....... It's quite an investment to properly seal and cool the relatively small area you have going. You had better have no growing issues before gassing your room because whatever challenges you were having will be magnified with forced CO2. CO2, while will increase your...

    Flower Room Rebuild-Lighting,Flooring, Cooling Qs

You may be in a legal state, and that's cool (I am not) but what happened to me were some teenagers that got whiffs through my window-shaker A/C unit and came back one night and ripped me off. Blowing budstink outside is just not a good idea. Carbon filters and a good inline fan will keep you...

    Flower Room Rebuild-Lighting,Flooring, Cooling Qs

You can find pre-cut rolls of vinyl flooring (I think I used 5'x10') that are not self-adhesive at Home Depot or Lowes. They also have big rolls on racks that are (I think 10' wide) that you ask them to cut to your desired length.

    Flower Room Rebuild-Lighting,Flooring, Cooling Qs

Flooring. While pond liners are pretty thick, I would go with a roll of vinyl flooring as it will last much longer.....and if you shop....it would be cheaper. Lighting. You have more than enough for the area you're growing in. Venting. Unless you live far away from neighbors, and never have...

Max number of plants in 4x8 area

You can flip anytime you want. How tall/big do you want to them to end up? You can count on them doubling in size when you flip....sometimes triple. At five weeks you have a good root system going in those, so you should do fine.

Hello again... I got a whole house, need Ideas

If you have a decent basement, that's my favorite place to grow. The easy availability to water and electric, along with less temp swings and easier to control bud-stink are just a few advantages to basement growing. Then there's the inevitable unwanted guest that stops by. Will they go in...

Max number of plants in 4x8 area

I allow 2'x2' per adult plant. Most often the plants do not get the memo on this restriction so staking them is in order. I ran a 4x8 room before....eight plants were fat and happy in there. I grew in #3 pots and plants averaged around 4'-5' tall.

    Lights needed for a 12'x12'

I did the mini-split to counter the heat thing, along with running CO2......about 25% more yield....but man, the power bill was a killer.....that and I wasn't happy working in a 95 degree room.

    Lights needed for a 12'x12'

WOW! I'm sure that would certainly light a 12x12 area.....but cannot imagine the heat one would have to deal with using that many lights.....let alone the amp-draw one has to accommodate to run all that.

    Lights needed for a 12'x12'

I am not a lighting expert.....even after 7 years of growing, but have faced the same lighting question several times. One of the deciding factors I took into consideration were how high will I be hanging the lights? Another is the availability of sufficient electrical amperage? Should I go...

Co2 causing plants to fade yellow early flower?

I grow using Jacks with happy frog soil. I also am running CO2 and found early yellowing of lights. I countered that with a bit more Jacks and adding calmag (Jacks is light on calmag to begin with) and it seems to have delayed yellowing....but they do end up yellowing the last few weeks.

    Where to top clones?

If you're wondering where on a plant to pull clones from.....I cut my clones from the bottom branches of a plant. Odds are they would not be productive at harvest time anyway. I've done this for years and not had an issue.

    Minimum watts per plant?!?

T5HO's are far superior to CFL's. I made my reflector out of the sun protector for car's front windows.....they're like 5 bucks.
