Picograv and the Linear LED Garden

In a way I am still a starving electronics engineer, once I have a current measuring device I can give you a reading!

My buddy got them from some bud he bought, a think about 6 seeds in a 1/2 ounce. Most likely a hermaphrodite, out of the four that sprouted one looks normal, ones top split way yearly on and the other two are just really little. The 500 watts in the garden now are from the custom setup I have...

does anodized layer impact heat transfer

Blacks really the only pigment small enough to fit in the hard anodizing. I used to do it for fun a while back. I wouldn't think your buddy would want to add contamination to his tank, something the tape or coating will leave behind. Are you unable to source some 300-400 grit sandpaper? Most...

Looking good today, some pictures for everyone. They seem to be grabbing all the available light and our expanding the fan leaves. Some nice node growth happening but still seems like a fight for the top! Clones doing well but behind the rest. Look at these crazy Gorilla Glue...

does anodized layer impact heat transfer

The surface on the COB is not polished, I would not polish the heatsink. Use a good thermal compound and sand to about 320 grit.

Thats right its a blackjack, I had to sell my ibanez when I moved :-x I dont play that much but when I do I use my custom fuzz pedal, basically a univox super fuzz converted to run silicon transistors. I modified some of the stages and used a hand wound transformer for some added smoothness to...

does anodized layer impact heat transfer

You are asking a few different things in this post. Do you want to know if the anodizing will impact the thermal resistance where the COB is mounted or the total thermal resistance of the heatsink? Hard anodizing would work the best and you should always sand it off where the COBs are mounted...

Black has lower thermal impedance to air.

I had not installed the fan in those pictures. The Vero 18s where always the Decors, I like how they look compared to the 2500k vero 29. I have about 9 feet, I lole keeping the lights very high. I've never had a problem with these not being close enough. There is about 8 inches under the pots...

Black dissipates heat better than red.

Simple LDO regulator, although every parts value is carefully selected so it self regulates. Air Cooling is a must, unless you don't mind having a heatsink the size of a small house. This will be the third run with the Decor Vero 18s...

Why do you need people to tell you how to design your light?

Hello all, Last weekend we worked hard to get all 32 five gallon pots filled and potted with the babies we started, also put in a good mix of clones. The seeds were started yearly March and had about 2 months of CFL light. In addition to the Purple Platinum and Strawberry Chunk seeds, we...

Starting to really enjoy the smell of agent orange! The flowers are so attractive, so much so there is a little moth that lives in my house now. It frequents the flowers but only at night {:

    Bridgelux Vero 29 LED Test

Early 2015 Harvest I named each phenotype after their particular tastes and aromas, it is amazing how each seed can develop so differently. Hella Orange - Strong and piney develops the taste of strong oranges. Pico Purple - Small buds that explode with flavor, makes me smile every time...

    CXA3590 Build Plan

It is pretty much impossible to match HPS efficacy with high power LEDs and COBs. Achieving an equivalent DC flux with LEDs compared to HPSs with its low low CRI is an electrifying concept, especially when you consider the much much improved spectrum you can give your babies  When the...

    Bridgelux Vero 29 LED Test

Do you normally top or do any training? Those large leaves are some of the last to go but the plant seems to know when to give that light up to the flowers. My room has a lot of reflected light which I think is helping the lower flowers as well. And yeah, seems like nothing is better for a bud...

    Bridgelux Vero 29 LED Test

I see your point and after I think about the last few grows, I've always finished with the Lights very close to the top flowers. I had a lot lot less space and this is the first time the plants are not fighting for the light. There even seemed to be more crystals on some of my previous flowers...
