so growth medium, removing money from the equation, would a 8x8x8 rockwool cube get the best growth of any medium if all else was equal?

I am looking at trying a run with 630w double ended CMH's. I have a table in the open (not in a tent) that is 3x12. I figure that 3 - 630w CMH should do the job here. But with a few reflector designs available, i am unsure which one would fit my needs. They don't really give a whole lot of...

I don't see any specific instructions for hydroponic applications. you think 2.5m per gallon? I have a 110 gallon res, it takes about 3 days to go though it. you think i should do a partial fill of the res and run it for a day, or for a full 3 days?

https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B0752PHMTL/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Definitely drain to waste. recycling water has a number of problems, first if one plant gets sick, they all do, second, you have to chase EC and PH around all the time. The real day to day issue is that...

i don't think you are going to save those. My suggestion would be rip it all out and start over. I know that suggestion sucks, but you can fight a losing battle for the next month and even if the tomatoes recover, they will not really produce very will. And when i say start over, i mean all...

    Bridgelux EB Series Build

I am really liking it. I am getting a new reflector for it to better serve my space. But as of now my plants have reacted favorably to the new light. I am actually running it at 600 watts not at 630, its not an energy saving thing, its just my ballast only runs at 600 watts. If things continue...

so i just went back in time...I replace my led strip light rig with a 630w CMH. I have no idea how to use it, if there are any weird things i need to know? I have never actually owned a HID light, i have only ever run LED. Honestly, i kind of like it. don't boo me...Its sorta elegant in its...

yeah, you have to have air flow!! this is REALLY important!!! Put the seeds in rockwool and toss them all in one nft channel at first to sprout. This way you only need to run a couple of lights. If you are really going to do this commercially, then half-assing it isn't going to cut it. This...

I did not, but with that said, i don't know that anyone would make an integrated samsung t5. The integrated stuff tends to be cheaper and throw away, it OK efficiency wise, maybe 100 lm/w. But at 27 cents a watt, its not terrible.

totally agree, i did almost all leaf lettuce, heads get tricky. I never got them to form correctly. As far as light goes, your smart phone with a lux app is pretty damn accurate, i have a nice lux meter and my phone doing the same test is about spot on. if you want a REAL quick and dirty...

    Bridgelux EB Series Build

my plants look awful under this light. Sickly and small, i have 36 plants going and the ones under these definitely look the worst, followed up by another lighting method i won't mention. I just ordered a 630w CMH and will see if that will fix the issue. Honestly i think if i like it i may...

you order 50 of them from alibaba, The price was 3.25 each, but you need plugs, those were 1.50 each. When it was all said and done, it was 185 in lights and 119 in shipping, so it worked out to $6.092 a unit. The plugs were pretty crappy too, but they will do the job. You also need daisy...

I've grown my fair share of lettuce. My thought would be NFT channels with integrated t5 led lights. The lights are DIRT cheap, and do a great job. NFT Channels: https://www.farmtek.com/farm/supplies/prod1;ft_hydroponic_supplies-ft_hydroponic_nft_channel_systems;pg110765.html you willl...

so i have been running 10, 3500k 4 foot bridgelux strips now for about 2 months, i have to say, Im not impressed. They cover an area of about 3x4, They seem to be ok if they are just about touching the plants, but once you go a few inches from the strips the light drops off like a rock. I am...

anyone think a 630 cmh over a open 3x4 would be overkill? I have been heavily using LED and think these might be worth looking at. I just picked up a double ended 630w unit. Other then this thread, there doesn't seem to be a hell of a lot on this subject matter.
