I am a fan of side lighting/all around lighting, but cannot say it is definitely better than only overhead lighting... it does work for me.

It's possible. When I built that light,I didn't have the plugs that fit the strips so I had to solder the wires to the contacts on the strips. The wires broke off several times. I have since rebuilt the light with the correct plugs. The birdcage has only 4 strips now. Here is a pic from 5...

Here are my little babies. The temps have been cool so a slow start as usual for me, and then humidity was way low so I fired up my fogger to help that. These are not Mystery Meat seeds and I am not officially in the competition, just riding shotgun to you guys.
