I will talk with one GAVITA's ballast supplier we have worked with, we matched before but since GAVITA has multiple ballast suppliers i need make sure which one we have done matching.

ignore the branding cost, just for the light itself. expensive one always with well tunned spectrum and 10% more total output. and if we look into effective output (the Par on the red and blue, not green) is difference is even more

Double ends bulb made by quartz they wont BANG because of water, but single end bulb made by glass be careful

Funny thing is there is no correct answer about which one is good. More reading more confusing

White light LED for both vegging and flowering? suppose 3000k CMH could be better at this point :lol:

A proper CMH is better than most of LEDs, great output and spectrum. Lots LED named full spectrum or 12 bands spectrum, either crap on PAR or high on cost.

CMH will definitely change the result. Those HPS from different brands performed very similar in PAR output and spectrum, so you wouldnt noticed any difference

i suppose start-up time mean from fired to working status, if the bulb can't be fired then it just failed to play with this ballast.

I see, quite old school. Maybe a new $24 bulb every 4 months did better than a $74 bulb year round.

Indeed, the cheapest HPS could perform the same spectrum as the top notch one, but good bulbs have better PPF and its efficiency last longer. There isnt much can do to change HPS spectrum, but CMH. What brands have you tested?

I said that from factory perspective :) , MH/HPS is unstable and short life compare to HPS, MH and CMH. It was design for a blue and red spectrum, but CMH can do that. And it is funny, many times maker and user not see things in the same way. Thats why I would like to chart with u guys8-)

I wont recommand the last one, HPS-MH. Hybrid but short life. CMH do better job than this hybrid.

small pieace of scandium been melted, thats how to make this lamp light up. Even the new one just out of the factory appear the same.

i dont grow, but i know lights well. Almost all the HPS has same spectrum, or just very little different. Pick the brand with good reputation and you will set. eye hortilux has ceramic hps with different spectrum, but not sure it can totally beat normal hps. CMH is good tho, if you dont know...
