I barely trim as it’s my personal stash. There’s no other way to show how dense a bud is. But I have consistently dense buds with what I grow. Sure the odd fluffy one but autos have come a ways in the past 10-15 years and it’s bit naive to say none produce dense buds lol

You can HST autos just need the right strain (and there’s lots) and know how to grow plants fast. The most potent autos I’d say beat the weak/mediocre photoperiods but strong photoperiods definitely trounce autos :) Everything else you mentioned is spot on tho!

I grow autos as I’m in a non legal place and don’t have the time to keep clones going. So always from seed. If I were in a legal state I’d deffo grow photos and get my mum to look after the clones when I’m away xD There are pros and cons for both photos and autos. Choose which suits your grow...

Best to avoid bringing plants in and out as it can introduce bugs into your indoor area. if no other plants can be contaminated and you clean your grow space before the next run it should be fine. Autos typically have 2-4 weeks of veg then they transition into flower. Best to just germinate...
